Season of exhibition in Ningbo and i came across this newly opened illustration exhibition at Ningbo Museum of Art which is located at the Old Bund also known and Ytown or Laowaitan 🤩🤩 The exhibition is on the ground floor is is free of charge, chinese people would have to register with their ID cards but foreigners dont need to as there is no passport option… The illustration are all hand drawn by the artist capturing his journey through the years to different cities and countries.. alot of his work medium is based on watercolours, ink and prints but each artwork has a story to tell which you can see walking through the gallery, personally i enjoyed walking through and just observing the story in each illustration. 🤩🤩 📍Ningbo Museum of Art 🕰️ 10:00 - 17:00 ( 16:30 last admission) 💰 free #exhibition #ningbo #awesomepic

Cafe stop number 1 in Ningbo for me would be Moonin. This is located down in the depths of Yinzhou district in the newly built up area with arts and crafts galore. Moonin is one of multiple cafes here and ideal for working as well as just chilling out with friends. A limited option of food to be fair but delicious nonetheless. Spring is here and Ningbo has some cool season related exhibitions popping up, especially this amazing exhibition on at UNNC campus 😍 The exhibition is by chinese artist Qiurui Du based on constructing a non traditional perspective between reality and imagination to explore the issues of society dual constraints of moral standards, social pressure, gender stereotypes and consumerism. 😍😍 The exhibition is on for a month at Nottingham University, library section (UNNC) and is free admission. Enjoying sunny days around Dongqian Lake in Ningbo which is 20-25 mins didi ride from downtown and is a place worth visiting. Located right next to the Drum Tower (gulou 鼓楼) underground station of line 1 and 2 you can find the Drum Tower of Ningbo which is just about 2 hours by train from Shanghai. The building is not huge but worth to visit. There is a nice view on shopping street behind the tower and when I visited there was a small, free contemporary art exhibition inside. After we saw the tower we walked among shops selling various snack and finally ended up in the park - called Zhongshan Guangchan 中山广场 - beyond the shopping area. If you havejust a little time it is a great idea to visit these places. One hour is absolutely enough and getting here is easy. #ningbo #drumtower #park #snack

This is a very American style restobar. Food was not the best but it’s decent enough to have some snacks while having a drinks. The place is huge with an amazing atmosphere to grab drinks with friends and talk. They play good and not too loud music so you actually talk to people. A weekend trip to this amazing architectural place, Huamao Art Museum is a must see place if your visiting Ningbo 😍 The inside of the space is minimalistic white geometric architecture which will truly take your breath away as everywhere you look, the light is reflected creating various angular shadows that make your photos look aesthetically pleasing.. While walking up the slope of the museum, you come across certain exhibition areas which have artwork displayed by various chinese snd foreign artists.. visited Ningbo Ocean world and I enjoyed every minute of it! from seeing actual sharks to seeing the penguins ! 😍. There are different theatre shows such as ‘mermaid’ theatre etc. it’s definitely good for a family trip. The staff is very helpful but I recommend going before 2pm so that there’s time to enjoy all shows because they stop at 4pm and you definitely want that ¥200 worth of enjoyment! on the down side it is a tourist attraction, therefore things are a bit more expensive than the average for example a bottle of water was ¥5 which is usually ¥2 and just things like this, can’t hate on the hustle though! for less crowded areas wait until the shows are finished at 4 and the crowd has left you and your photos will thank me later 😘. 9/10 Would definitely recommend if you are a sea creature lover🐧🦈#ningbo #ningbooceanworld #touristattractions

Ningbo Museum is definitely a place to visit! It’s a combination of culture and digitalization because of its modernity. The museum itself is art, Shoutout to Mr. Wang Shu for blessing us with such a masterpiece. Sacred Heart Cathedral was originally built in 1872 and is located in the old bund of Ningbo, China. It is a stunning example of Gothic style architecture! The church was partially burned down in 2006 but has since been fully restored! The church is gorgeous and definitely worth checking out if you are in the old bund area! The stained glass windows were pretty and the gates around the church were very ornamental. If you like old churches or if you are an architecture nerd you won’t be disappointed! We visited at night and the church was lit up beautifully! 📍 桃源街251号 8oz Coffee is a lovely cafe in Yinzhou district. The staff speak English and are really friendly. The food choices are mostly brunch style but the portions are decent and filling. My favourite meal here is the French Toast, covered with cinnamon, candy floss, bananas and biscoff biscuits. Amazing taste! 📍 东钱湖211创意空间 Close to Dongqian Lake in Ningbo, 211 creative space is a vibrant green area modelled on European architecture. It’s not a huge area but you can easily spend a few hours here. There are clothing spaces, designers and shops as well as cafes. There are a number of people wandering around here taking photos as each building has a distinctive style, including a mini fountain area in the middle. Definitely take bug spray with you, I was covered in bites after being there and the bugs were absolutely everywhere! Dress for the green backdrop; most buildings are covered with the vines. Y11 Fashion Area is rife with people having photo shoots, if you visit expect to wait for others to finish before being able to use certain parts of this street. The street looks like something from a movie set, it’s bright and vibrant and fun. The buildings are brightly coloured and the decoration around the area definitely adds to the atmosphere of the place. The yellow car at the entrance of the street is one of the more popular photo spots or the bus stop in the centre. The New Century Resort in Jiulonghu is one of my favourite pools to visit. There are a total of 3 main pool areas, one designated to shallow water only, one that most welcomes kids and the pool at the end. The pool at the end is my go to as it overlooks Jiulong Lake itself and the surrounding mountains. The resort itself is great; clean and easy to navigate. The walls are adorned with Guinness adverts, nostalgic Titanic newspaper clippings and posters about Ireland. The waitstaff were attentive and kind. It was a great place to eat some western food in the middle of China! Highlights - The Guinness beef pie was AMAZING! The draft beer was ice cold and the waitstaff were on point. I highly recommend checking this pub out if you find yourself in Ningbo! Avg. Price per Person - Appetizers between ¥22 and ¥60. Entrees ranged between ¥55 and ¥110. Further exploring places in Ningbo, and came across this surprisingly eye catching place known as Dongqianhu 211 Creative Space 😄 The architecture here takes you back to Ancient Greek towns with grand white buildings covered in ivy plants making the whole area just breathtaking 😆 Theres a lot of coffee shops, tea houses, pottery shops and studios located within these amazing building. Welcome to Ningbo. Zhongshan Park is hidden away behind Gulou tower and street area, yet during the day you can walk through and hear the bustle of the locals chatting and playing instruments or games. There’s a number of pagoda areas where locals can be found singing or practicing their musical skills. It’s small but very green in this area. You can forget that you are in the main city area. Just outside this park, you will find the busy streets of Gulou. Market stalls and food sellers are shouting right beside the peace of the park. It’s worth visiting both while in the city centre. #createwithtrip Ningbo Museum is located down in Yinzhou close to Yinzhou Park area. It is very easy to make a whole day trip in this area, with the museum free of charge as is the Yinzhou park area. Ningbo Museum does hold exhibits which alternate, however they do tend to stay on show for longer periods of time than in the Art Museum. Once you’ve walked through the museum, be sure to check out the outdoor cafe on top and enjoy the view of Ningbo city from the rooftop. Prices in the cafe are standard 25-38RMB for drinks, you can also purchase snacks and ice cream here.
