Through 4IP Group Sàrl partnership with #LCPA we will be bringing Development through Sport (#Tennis) to Africa's 2nd largest country: 1. We aim to be bringing a leading Swiss Tennis Academy to Kinshasa; 2. We aim to offer state of the art training to African tennis youth (10-17 years, boys and girls); 3. We aim to bring proper equipments to improve the tennis facilities 4. We aim to organize a regional youth tennis tournament in parallel with the week-long training sessions; 5. We aim to expose secondary school children to the wonders of Tennis - often considered an elite sport - to avoid that the true talents never get a chance to excel at the world stage as Africa has shown in other sports from #football, to #basketball and #athleticism, which don't require the same expensive infrastructure as in tennis. In recent years, the African #financiallandscape has seen significant strides in the issuance of #ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) #bonds. With the record for #ESGbondissuance already shattered in the first two months of 2024, #Africa is proving to be a burgeoning #frontier for #responsibleinvestments. Despite this impressive #growth, the #scale of the continent’s needs suggests substantial potential for further expansion. From January to February 2024, African entities #issued $4.4 billion in ESG bonds, a remarkable increase from the $1.4 billion total in 2023. This surge underscores the increasing recognition of #sustainablefinance as a critical #tool for addressing #environmental and #socialchallenges across the continent. African Development Bank Group Development Bank (#AfDB) has been a pivotal player in this market. In January 2024, the AfDB launched a $2 billion issue of social bonds, demonstrating its commitment to funding projects that enhance social welfare. Additionally, the institution issued $750 million in #hybrid #sustainablebonds, further solidifying its leadership role. https://lnkd.in/eWy-4WfD

4IP Group Sàrl managing Partner, Christian Kingombe, was honoured to have been invited by the Coordinator Lidel Kelly Toh PH.D. of the recently launched Camerounian taskforce to set-up a National Advisory Board for Impact Investing in Cameroun. The 2nd taskforce event, which took place yesterday, was an opportunity to share his experience as a former member of the taskforce which set-up Africa's 2nd NABII, that is Zambian National Advisory Board for Impact Investment (NABII), 2017-2020, as well as that of his more recent experience as a member Swiss taskforce, 2023-24, which yesterday led to the launching of the Swiss National Advisory Board for Impact Investing or as the Swiss Sustainable Finance calls it the @Swiss Platform for Impact Investing (#SPII). Both processes will eventually lead to closer investment ties between Switzerland and Africa as we have endeavoured to do through 4IP's Impact Lions Den series, which show-cases impact investment opportunities in the 10 African countries covered by our Impact Investor Circle series since 2020. Next e-pitching event takes place on Thursday 19th of December: https://lnkd.in/eUmnaqS9 where we hope that more Swiss-based impact fund managers will take part as our Impact Lions. Building on the success of this on-going series, 4IP Group Sàrl has decided to launch a new podcast series called the #InvisibleHeart" Series The "#InvisibleHeart" philosophy, coined by Sir Ronald Cohen, encapsulates his vision of #impactinvesting and #socialinnovation as the next great force #reshaping economies and societies. It builds on #AdamSmith's "#invisiblehand" concept, which describes how market forces naturally balance supply and demand to drive economic #efficiency. In contrast, Cohen's "#invisibleheart" represents the #integration of #altruism and #ethical considerations into capital markets, aiming to generate measurable positive social and environmental outcomes alongside financial returns. In particular The "#invisibleheart" emphasizes the #ethical #responsibility of #capitalmarkets to address pressing #globalissues, suggesting that #financialsystems should work not only for #profit but also for the collective #wellbeing of humanity. With Cameroun joining the GSG Impact we are getting one step closer to realizing the vision of creating an #ImpactRevolution on the African continent with 4IP Group continuing to contribute to that end goal. https://lnkd.in/eVmXDKg4
I want to take this moment to express my gratitude for participating in the first physical meeting of the National Advisory Board of the Cameroon impact investment ecosystem as a Pre-Taskforce member. The #expertise and #enthusiasm of the Pre-Taskforce members is paving the way for #collective #success. The importance of #collaboration and shared #vision towards building the Cameroon Impact Investment ecosystem, aligning with the Global Steering Group's objectives was key amongst the major issues raised. Many thanks goes to impact leaders like Atieno Otonglo Christian Kingombe Gilbert Ewehmeh Akwie Awamofor ESQ Dr. Hycinth Ndze Ngong Ph.D. Nicole Ngo Banolok Cedella B. Its an honour to have been selected by Ayoob Rawat to be contributor to Private Wealth & Family Office (PWFO) - Swiss Certified Thought leadership programme led by Belinda Wong The focus of this article and the forthcoming articles is to look at showcasing what it takes to become a growth-oriented enterprise capable of attracting private impact capital to help the founders overcome the many obstacles on the way to success. What does the process looks like, who were the supporting angels who helped paved the way to success, how do you become investment ready. How do you deal with adversity and rejections, before you sign your first catalytic deal. Most of the enterprises which will be showcased in the article series will be extracted from 4IP Group Sàrl's Impact Lions' Den series, although I am open to write about other fascinating companies whose corporate life-stories merit widespread dissemination for the benefit of other emerging entrepreneurs. This new series of enterprise focused articles should be seen as a complement to our recently started Invisible Heart Podcast series which looks at these issues as seen from the other side of the table, namely that of the suppliers of private impact capital. https://lnkd.in/epcddY7y
