With the start of 2025, we are reminded of the foundational objective behind the Dynamic PhotoDetector (DPD): improving energy consumption and enabling devices to become more efficient through light sensing. 🌍💡 This guiding principle remains at the core of everything we do. In 2024, we concentrated on showcasing and communicating the unique capabilities of our IP portfolio to a wider audience, while continuing research and supporting products already on the market. From the DPD’s ability to measure light intensity through time—paving the way for advancements in signal processing and circuit design—to innovations in Time-to-Digital Converters (TDC) and pixel design, we highlighted how these technologies make light sensing smarter, smaller, and more efficient across various applications. Our interview with ipXchange allowed us to share insights on our technology, furthering the conversation around the importance of strong IP in shaping the future of the technology landscape, including wearable and smartphone innovations. ⌚️📱 We extend our sincere thanks to our partners, collaborators, team members, and everyone who shows support for ActLight’s journey. 🙏 Your trust and interest in the potential of DPD is what continues to drive us forward. As we build on existing collaborations and forge new partnerships, we continue to drive innovation in light sensing technology. With promising opportunities on the horizon, we are excited to push boundaries and shape the future together in 2025. Here’s to a year of progress and meaningful connections! 🔗 For more insights into our solutions, watch the ipXchange interview, where we delve into our technologies and their real-world impact. 👇 https://lnkd.in/e6pkYDCf

Did you know? Our Dynamic PhotoDetector (DPD) consumes 10x less power than traditional vital sign monitoring sensors. 🔋✨ Conventional photodetectors often struggle with: ✅ Weaker output signals, which require complex amplifiers and high voltage to compensate. ✅ Avalanche photodetectors offer higher output signals but come with the drawback of very high voltage requirements. ActLight’s Dynamic PhotoDetector solves this challenge by delivering: ✅ High output signals at low voltage, simplifying circuit design and enhancing performance—particularly in signal-to-noise ratio. What makes it “Dynamic”? ✅ Unlike traditional photodiodes that operate at a fixed reverse voltage and measure photocurrent, the DPD switches from reverse to forward polarity. ✅ By measuring the time it takes for forward current to start—time that is directly light-dependent—our device extracts light intensity in a completely unique and highly efficient way. As Guy from ipXchange aptly put it, this technology can seem “alien” at first. At ActLight, we’re transforming how industries approach photodetection—paving the way for smarter, more efficient systems. 📽 Watch the full interview on ipXchange to see how we help businesses address their unique application needs ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e6pkYDCf
