"Bimu SA on the road" Damian Serra was traveling in Spain last week and visited numerous customers who are active in Swiss-type turning.   With very high quantities on multi-spindle machines, it is very important to optimize the machining times for each individual position. In order to avoid long contour turning times, form grooving inserts from Bimu up to 8 mm wide are often used.   BONASTRE has also been relying on our tool quality for years. Last week, the “National Future Career Day” took place again in Switzerland. The children have the opportunity to look over the shoulders of employees in the companies of their choice and get to know the various businesses and professions. Following the introduction of our new 060RX grooving and turning inserts, there was soon a demand for increased depth of cut (ap). So we developed the 760RX variant based on the 700 line with a maximum depth of cut of 6mm / 0.236 inch. The RX geometries in combination with the BI110 coating are the first choice when it comes to machining lead-free brass, aluminum and other soft-tough non-ferrous metals.

Our first quick-change system “Quick change mini” was launched exactly 10 years ago and has been continuously optimized and expanded.   We have now developed our latest quick-change system for Swiss type lathes in the very small diameter range with 8 mm holders. A large selection of different interchangeable heads is available from stock.   Leave the door of your machine open for as short a time as possible and test the advantages of this system “QCM”. Do you regularly machine stainless steel? Do chips sometimes remain in the tool area for a long time instead of falling down? Especially when front turning with ISO insert, there are often large chip volumes. Ideally, these can be broken and easily removed using high pressure. For this purpose, we have our Y-Axis ISO holders with the insert mounted vertically (when installing the holders to the left of the guide bush) so that we can utilize the gravitational force. In addition, the two high pressure supply channels on the rake face and clearance face provide even more power for clean chip evacuation. And yet another innovation in our QCD quick-change system:   The base holder for back machining on the Citizen L12, L20 & L32   All interchangeable heads from the QCD range can also be used here, such as the collets, ISO inserts and, of course, the fully ground Bimu inserts.   Interesting to know: All variants have a dual high-pressure inlet!
