Our last Top Case of the year is coming from Dr. Gerhard Gruber from Barmherzige Brüder Österreich Hospital, Vienna. The case shows a patient with a history of breast cancer that had a 39mm renal cell carcioma. Due to ongoing chemotherapy, cryoablation with the assistance of CAS-One IR was decided as opposed to a partial nephrectomy. We loved ESIR in Innsbruck last week! Seriously interested participants spending dedicated time walking through how Quality Ablation with CAS-One IR works – our station was led by Dr. Marie Beermann who has performed close to 1,000 Quality Ablations herself as well as Dr. Philipp Wiggermann, whose experience in stereotaxy and robotics goes back many years. We were privileged to use our software in a second workshop station dedicated to image fusion (CT/CT and CT/MRI), Dr. Bruno Odisio took the lead here. The anticipated moment has arrived – 10,000 patients have been treated with CAS-One IR. We are thankful for the ~200 physicians around the world in 65 hospitals who believe in our technology and the concept of Quality Ablation. Our team is hard at work with more and more plans to continue to make tumor ablation better for patients.

CAS-One IR was present at the first Medpeers event in Amsterdam last week which went smoothly with excellent video cases and discussion from the faculty. Prof. Attila Kovács at WEGE KLINIK used their new Philips 7500 Spectral CT for the first time on Tuesday, and decided the very first patient treated would be a patient with an 8cm retroperitoneal metastasis treated with a 12-needle ECT with the help of CAS-One IR. Two more patients were treated with ECT that same day, all under General Anaesthesia, and the consistency of a CAS-One IR treatment even allowed for time left for a 4th patient (liver biopsy). It is always good to see WEGE KLINIK and Prof. Kovacs utilizing new technology to improve tumor treatments for patients, and we expect many more success stories to come. November’s Top Case: A 57-year-old with rectal cancer with a history of surgery and chemo was scheduled for MWA of 5 remaining metastasis. 6 trajectories were planned and verified with CAS-One IR, and AblaSure showed sufficient coverage.
