Thanks to the generosity of the Swiss population, Chaîne du Bonheur (Swiss Solidarity) has supported over 90 projects for more than CHF 100 million bringing essential humanitarian assistance to millions of displaced families. In collaboration with Chaîne du Bonheur, the Centre en philanthropie (GCP)- UNIGE is hosting a public conference to reflect on the ongoing humanitarian efforts. This event will provide a platform for NGOs on the ground, particularly local organizations on the front lines, to share their experiences, challenges, and key lessons learned. 🌟 We are proud to spotlight Miren A. Habituellement inaccessible au public, ce dépôt patrimonial de la Ville de Genève a exceptionnellement ouvert ses portes vendredi dernier aux membres du Comité du Club Diplomatique de Genève et à ses membres d’honneur. Ce lieu méconnu abrite une collection impressionnante d’objets historiques et d’œuvres d’art qui racontent l’histoire de Genève sous un angle unique. Un véritable trésor caché où l’histoire genevoise prend vie à travers des collections précieusement conservées. Un immense merci à Christina Kitsos, Maire de Ville de Genève, pour sa présence au déjeuner, ainsi qu'à Marc-Olivier Wahler, Directeur du Musée d’art et d'histoire de Genève (MAH) et à Alexandra Dermange, membre du Comité de la Société des amis du MAH, pour leur invitation au Carré Vert et leur précieux soutien dans l'organisation de cet évènement.

The session was led by Prof. Jérôme Duberry, Managing Director of the Tech Hub and Co-Director of the Geneva Graduate Institute | Executive Education, who provided expert insights into AI’s transformative role in diplomacy. 🌐 As artificial intelligence reshapes global affairs, it is no longer an option but a necessity for diplomats to understand its impact. AI is redefining decision-making, negotiation processes, and scenario prediction, making it an essential tool for diplomacy and international cooperation. From predictive analytics to real-time translation, from risk assessment to automated diplomacy, AI offers immense opportunities but also raises critical questions about trust, ethics, and human oversight in international affairs. Ensuring that diplomats are equipped to navigate these transformations is key to preserving effective and forward-thinking multilateralism, where AI serves diplomacy rather than disrupts it. Les défis y sont nombreux : stabilisation politique, résolution des conflits, crises humanitaires, recompositions régionales, sans oublier l’influence croissante des grandes puissances et des organisations internationales. Par son expérience et son engagement, Jean-Yves Le Drian est un témoin privilégié et un acteur clé des efforts diplomatiques dans cette région. ✨ 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🌐 Last night, the Diplomatic Club of Geneva had the pleasure of welcoming the International Geneva community to the Diplomatic New Year Reception at the International Telecommunication Union. This year’s gathering was particularly special as we commemorated the 𝟏𝟔𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐓𝐔, an institution that embodies the power of multilateral cooperation.   💬 As our President Raymond Loretan stated: “Multilateralism is currently under significant attack with dangerous repercussions both locally and globally. Here in International Geneva, we share a collective responsibility to promote constructive and proactive dialogue, ensuring the preservation of the principles and practices that have sustained global cooperation for decades. Yet, in this era of rising unilateralism and fragmented alliances, defending multilateralism requires more than rhetoric. It calls for tangible action, and, most critically, unwavering solidarity to navigate these turbulent times. As we embark on this new year, let us reaffirm our unwavering commitment to multilateralism. Let us lead by example, choosing dialogue over division, partnerships over polarization, unity over isolation, and tangible action over empty rhetoric. Together, we can confront the challenges of today and advance the vision of a world thriving in solidarity”. As shared during the opening remarks, understanding and storytelling are essential tools not only in examining a country’s identity but also in fostering meaningful dialogue across cultures. Events like this help us reflect on shared values, bridging divides and building connections.
