The NÁMI Collection is inspired by grand spaces and the arcades that often fill them. These architectural features gave the collection its unique starting point, creating furniture that merges form and function more immediately than traditional sci-fi designs. Unlike the stark, angular structures typically seen in the genre, these pieces introduce a more approachable aesthetic. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dF46ipf3 Photo Credit: Courtesy of NORNA Design

This project created by MMW arkitekter AS marks a milestone in Oslo’s journey toward a zero-emission future. As part of the city’s electrification of public transport, the charging towers ensure that ferry traffic on the Oslo Fjord now runs entirely on electricity, significantly reducing carbon emissions. Inspired by the ocean’s majestic creatures, the sperm whale and the giant squid, the design symbolizes harmony between nature and technology. The Bough Pot was developed to create products connecting users of the community hub with urban farming practices. Pots are gifted to facility users (e.g., daycare, food bank, gym) and sown with vegetable seedlings. Users then take the pots home and care for the plant. In spring, pots are returned and planted in community gardens with a head start on the annual growth cycle. As the Bough Pots are decomposable, they can be planted directly in the soil, reducing the risk of transplant shock and streamlining the planting process.
