As Thanksgiving approaches, we are grateful for the progress made in the fight against Alzheimer's disease with the introduction of the GAIN Act, co-sponsored by Representatives Ami Bera, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Young Kim. This bipartisan initiative authorizes U.S. participation in the Davos Alzheimer's Collaborative, symbolizing a united global effort to combat Alzheimer’s and dementia. The GAIN Act underscores the importance of international collaboration, bringing together governments, nonprofits, academia, and the private sector to enhance research, prevention, and care worldwide. With nearly 60 million individuals currently affected by Alzheimer's and projections exceeding 150 million by 2050, a coordinated response is more critical than ever. This initiative aims to promote equitable solutions and accelerate advancements in prevention strategies, offering hope for millions impacted by these conditions. Together with all DAC supporters, we are poised to make meaningful strides in improving lives and advancing our shared mission. chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://lnkd.in/eGHYTWyK https://lnkd.in/eG8NjYxG

The Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative is proud to have awarded a grant to Barrow Neurological Foundation to implement a program for AI-based cognitive assessments in primary care clinics. Check out DAC Healthcare System Preparedness Director Tim MacLeod, PhD’s post below to learn more ⬇️
🚨 Advancing innovation in Alzheimer’s care! The Davos Alzheimer's Collaborative (DAC) has awarded a grant to Barrow Neurological Foundation to implement a cutting-edge program for AI-based cognitive assessments in primary care clinics. What makes this especially significant? They’ll be utilizing the DAC Early Detection Blueprint—a framework designed to guide scalable and impactful early detection strategies globally. Led by the amazing Anna Burke, this initiative embeds cognitive assessments into routine primary care, enabling earlier detection and more timely intervention for Alzheimer’s. With the number of people living with Alzheimer’s projected to grow exponentially, frameworks like the Early Detection Blueprint are crucial for addressing this urgent need. This collaboration not only advances innovation but also demonstrates the real-world impact of DAC’s Blueprint in transforming healthcare systems. By identifying cognitive decline earlier, patients gain faster access to interventions and research opportunities—potentially reshaping the future of Alzheimer’s care. 🔬 Learn more about this initiative here: https://lnkd.in/g2zz_iE2

We are honored to announce that we've received a grant from Davos Alzheimer's Collaborative —a pioneering worldwide initiative to cure Alzheimer’s disease and improve brain health—for a pilot study demonstrating the impact of AI-based cognitive assessments in the primary care setting to enable early diagnosis. “Identifying patients in the mild cognitive impairment stage and referring them to an Alzheimer’s specialist on time will give them the best chance of delaying cognitive decline," says Anna D. Burke, MD, Director of the Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders Program at Barrow Neurological Institute. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gizWCAM2
