The Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth is an alliance of committed partners, both within and beyond the United Nations, scaling up action and impact on youth employment through innovative and evidence-based interventions. Partners share knowledge, leverage resources and take action to tackle decent work deficits and increase the quantity and quality of job opportunities available to young people. Decent Jobs for Youth brings together the resources and expertise of multiple stakeholders including the private sector, governments, social partners, the UN System, non-governmental organisations, youth and civil society, regional institutions, parliamentarians, foundations, academia and the media. This is especially true in low- and middle-income countries, and for rural young women. Stimulating inclusive rural transformation is essential to promoting decent jobs for young women in the agri-food sector, finds Chiara Curcio, Ph.D, Technical Officer, Youth Employment from International Labour Organization and Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth.
