Unexpected changes on competition day! Our hybrid pilot Thomas Krieg unfortunately fell ill, so Rolf Schoch is stepping up as the pilot for both disciplines. 💪 Taking on this double challenge is no easy feat, but if there’s anyone who can handle it, it’s Rolf! It’s been two weeks since CYBATHLON, and we’re still incredibly proud of our team for bringing home two silver medals! This event was a powerful showcase of assistive technologies developed with and for people with disabilities. 🌟 Our amazing pilot, Rolf Schoch, achieved a remarkable second place in both the #exoskeleton and #wheelchair races. 🦿 In the exoskeleton race, we demonstrated our innovative approach that combines manual wheelchair functionality with an exoskeleton. Rolf could ride to each task, stand up to walk, complete the task, and sit back down when done. The two support legs allow for hands-free walking - a true breakthrough! 🦼 In the wheelchair race, Rolf's calm determination helped him complete 8 out of 10 tasks at record speed, defending ZED evolution’s place on the podium. 🎉 A huge thank you to everyone who brought this event to life and to everyone who contributed to these successful projects. 🏆 Doppelte Silbermedaille für die OST beim Cybathlon 2024! 🏆 Die beiden Teams der OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule haben Grund zum Feiern! Beim gestrigen Finale in der Swiss Arena Kloten sicherten sie sich zweimal Silber: sowohl mit dem Robotik-Rollstuhl als auch mit dem Hybrid-Exoskelett. Erfahrungen und Ausdauer zahlen sich aus Trotz unerwarteter Herausforderungen, wie dem kurzfristigen Ausfall eines Piloten, bewiesen die enhanced Teams Varileg und Robility ihr Durchhaltevermögen. Der Pilot Rolf Schoch stellte zudem noch persönliche Bestzeiten auf. 👏 Ein grosses Dankeschön an die technischen Verantwortlichen, die Rolf an der Seitenlinie unterstützten und mit Coaching-Hinweisen zum Erfolg beitrugen.
