I am thrilled to announce the acceptance of our latest paper that was just accepted to #CSCW2025 and which has been in the making for several years. As we've seen more and more teams struggle with striking good trade-offs between working focused and supporting their co-workers, we wanted to develop a solution to foster a better balance. With #FlowTeams we present a novel approach that ... - unifies and combines presence information in one place, - cultivates the scheduling of workdays around focused work and collaboration, and - provides visibility of the information through #FlowLight and a digital display. Our 6-week field evaluation with 48 professionals from 10 teams showed that FlowTeams successfully improves this balance: 🗨️ 45% reported less online and 65% less in-person interruptions 🎯 88% reported increased focus 🪴 67% reported more effective, less taxing teamwork There are many more insights, such as how FlowTeams supported teams in better aligning their work schedules, or the differences in how time for focused work is protected depending on role (individual worker VS managers) and location (home office VS office). 👇 Check the comments for a blogpost and the pre-print of the paper - a nice holiday read 😅 🚦 Want to try FlowTeams with your team? head over to FlowLabs and we're happy to onboard you in 2025! I want to everyone who made this huge project and successful conclusion possible. First and foremost, Thomas Fritz, my co-author. Dario and Remy, the two research developers of the research prototype. The HASEL group for continuous testing & feedbacks over 2+ years. All the study participants, companies and paper reviewers. And the DIZH for financially supporting the project.
