Simulation software and measurement hardware for R&D on organic and perovskite solar cells and LEDs.

Info

★ Scientific Tools that Boost your R&D ★ FLUXiM AG provides simulation software and measurement hardware to the display, lighting, and photovoltaic industries worldwide. We are developing tools for organic and perovskite-based electronics. Our modelling software SETFOS is designed to simulate light propagation and charge transport in optoelectronic devices, such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and thin-film solar cells (OPV #perovskite solar cells). Laoss is a 2D-FEM solver that is used to design large-area displays and photovoltaics. Paios is an all-in-one electrical characterization unit that is able to perform steady-state, transient and frequency-dependent measurements on (O)LEDs and organic solar cells. Phelos is an angle-dependent spectral measurement system for electroluminescence (EL) and photoluminescence (PL) of thin films and (O)LEDs. Litos is our lifetime analysis tool. It is a powerful platform to perform stress-tests on thin-film solar cells and OLEDs. Litos Lite is a platform to perform parallel JV and stability measurements on organic and perovskite solar cells.

Pushing OLED Research Boundaries with Setfos What’s the key to achieving higher efficiency, better light extraction, and longer lifetimes in OLEDs? Professor Chris Giebink’s research group (Applied Optoelectronics and Photonics Lab AOPL) at the University of Michigan is exploring these questions with the help of Setfos, a versatile simulation tool for organic, quantum-dot, and perovskite LEDs. Some Key Insights from Giebink’s Research: 1️⃣ Thermodynamic Limits in OLEDs: Revealing that state-of-the-art phosphorescent and TADF OLEDs are nearing their efficiency limits. 2️⃣ Enhanced Light Extraction: Optimizing internal light extraction up to 35% without compromising device lifetime. 3️⃣ Solving SOP Challenges: Increasing EQE by reducing exciton-polaron quenching through material innovations. At Fluxim, we're thrilled to see our Setfos software powering impactful OLED research! The Holmes Group lead at the University of Minnesota tackled spontaneous orientation polarization (SOP), a key challenge in OLED efficiency and lifespan. Their findings highlight how device architecture can control SOP-induced polaron accumulation: Key findings: ● Introducing SOP into the emissive layer allows for control over the spatial location of polaron accumulation. ● A spacer layer can be employed to tune the polaron accumulation rate and density. ● Both techniques lead to reduced exciton quenching and improved device efficiency. Using Setfos, they simulated light outcoupling efficiencies, revealing reduced exciton quenching and improved performance. A great example of how advanced simulation tools drive innovation in display technology. What’s your take on these approaches? Let’s discuss! Read the #openaccess paper here: Controlling Polarization-Induced Polaron Accumulation in OLEDs via Device Design, Evgeny Pakhomenko, et al. Adv. Funct. Mater., 2412329, (2024). https://lnkd.in/e3aa2CPW Congratulations to first author Evgeny Pakhomenko and thanks for trusting in Setfos.

Ask Fluxim's Antonio Cabas Vidani what he wished he had during his PhD, and you will get many answers, but the main one would be more time to analyze and improve his solar cells. "During my PhD, I tested hundreds of solar cells one by one, spending countless hours ensuring consistent conditions. Back then, I didn’t have access to high-throughput tools, which could have saved me all that time and effort." Today, with tools like Fluxim's Litos Lite, researchers no longer need to sacrifice their time to tedious manual measurements. Litos Lite is a platform for parallel JV and stability measurements of up to 56 solar cell devices (and now up to 12 Perovskite/Silicon Tandem solar cells) at once. You can spend less time measuring and more time analyzing your data. Isn't it time to give your research the boost it deserves? Watch Antonio's story here: https://lnkd.in/eFztbk-w

#Perovskite Solar Cells: The Ultimate Guide to Stability, Best Practices, and the Tools Driving Innovation! Understanding stability is key to unlocking the full potential of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). While PSCs have made leaps in efficiency, durability remains a hurdle. That’s where the ISOS protocols come in. These standardized protocols—like ISOS-LC (light-dark cycling) and ISOS-V (bias in the dark)—help researchers systematically test and improve the stability of PSCs under real-world conditions. By identifying degradation mechanisms, the protocols pave the way for more reliable and long-lasting devices. At Fluxim, we’re excited to contribute to this field by supporting researchers with tools and insights that make stability studies more accessible and impactful. 👉 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ezZ6PHzd References: [1] H.
