Simulation software and measurement hardware for R&D on organic and perovskite solar cells and LEDs.
Info
★ Scientific Tools that Boost your R&D ★ FLUXiM AG provides simulation software and measurement hardware to the display, lighting, and photovoltaic industries worldwide. We are developing tools for organic and perovskite-based electronics. Our modelling software SETFOS is designed to simulate light propagation and charge transport in optoelectronic devices, such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and thin-film solar cells (OPV #perovskite solar cells). Laoss is a 2D-FEM solver that is used to design large-area displays and photovoltaics. Paios is an all-in-one electrical characterization unit that is able to perform steady-state, transient and frequency-dependent measurements on (O)LEDs and organic solar cells. Phelos is an angle-dependent spectral measurement system for electroluminescence (EL) and photoluminescence (PL) of thin films and (O)LEDs. Litos is our lifetime analysis tool. It is a powerful platform to perform stress-tests on thin-film solar cells and OLEDs. Litos Lite is a platform to perform parallel JV and stability measurements on organic and perovskite solar cells.

It's great to start the new year with a flurry of papers which have used our tools. One of the many impressive results comes from our colleagues FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. This Nature Communications paper highlights a key breakthrough in perovskite-organic tandem solar cells (P-O-TSCs), addressing optical losses in interconnection layers (ICLs). The researchers replaced the traditional MoOx layer with a solution-processed PEDOT:F layer. This change had a significant impact: Reduced light losses: Smaller, more uniform Au nanoparticles reduced parasitic absorption, allowing more light into the organic rear cell. Higher transmittance: PEDOT:F-based ICLs achieved nearly 90% transparency in the NIR region. Improved performance: A record efficiency of 25.34% was achieved, with a VOC of 2.32V and a current gain of +1.5mA/cm². Better stability: Devices with PEDOT:F-based ICLs showed improved durability. The advanced simulation software Setfos from Fluxim was used for drift-diffusion simulations, helping the team optimize charge transport and improve device design. Congratulations to the authors for this fantastic achievement! It’s great to see SETFOS contributing to groundbreaking advances in solar technology.
