Last week, I had the privilege of representing White & Case LLP at the Global Alliance for YOUth Conference, hosted by Nestlé in beautiful Vevey, Switzerland. We spent two productive days brainstorming innovative ideas to help youth. This was followed by a celebration of 10 years of making a difference! It’s inspiring to see how 25 international companies have collectively created over 40 million professional development opportunities for young people worldwide. Empowering the Next Generation at the Global Alliance for Youth! 🎉👩💼👨💼 We were proud to participate in the 10th-anniversary celebration of the Global Alliance for YOUth on September 26, 2024, in La Tour-de-Peilz. This milestone event brought together partner companies and young talents to discuss the future of work and the opportunities for the next generation. Our next gen talents Philippe Steiner (Specialist Real Estate & Procurement) and Sebastian Beck (Payroll Coordinator) represented The Adecco Group in two insightful panel discussions: 1️⃣  Intergenerational Collaboration: How can we foster effective collaboration between different generations in the workplace? Quote Sebastian: “Expectations are different so that it sometimes seems as if we do not speak the same language - we need to translate and bridge that gap.” 2️⃣ Youth Expectations in the World of Work: What do young professionals today expect from their careers, and how can businesses adapt? Quote Philippe: “When searching for a job after finishing school, one is filled with dreams. It’s important to find a workplace where the values of youth align with those of the company, creating a space that nurtures those dreams”. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting and empowering the next generation. We’re proud of Philippe and Sebastian for contributing their perspectives and demonstrating The Adecco Group’s commitment to shaping the future of work. The Global Alliance for YOUth, co-founded by Nestlé, is celebrating 10 years of making a global impact. Over the past decade, 25 international companies have joined forces to provide 40+ million professional development opportunities to youth aged 18-30! From promoting digital inclusion through the #Code4YOUth hackathon to supporting vulnerable communities with JA Europe, the Alliance is committed to equipping young people with essential skills to thrive in today's workforce. Iryna Berestova, a Ukrainian beneficiary from the JA Europe HONOUR Project said: “The HONOUR project provided me with a roadmap and tools to contribute to my ongoing integration into the German labour market. The project’s workshops and the support received have been instrumental in positioning me for future success. This is our future... I am very grateful to have spent three days this week discussing the importance our youth will play in our workforce in the coming years. Representing Cargill as part of the Global Alliance for YOUth I was fortunate to collaborate with other organisations and hear the voice of our youth. In the past 10 years, 25 international company members of the Global Alliance for YOUth have provided over 40 million professional development opportunities for people all over the world aged 18 to 30 years old. This is a very unique collaboration and we are fortunate to have been apart of this. Here are some of the key things I learnt this week: 1️⃣ Our youth will truly play a key role in our global workforce in the future, we need to listen and incorporate them in shaping the future. 2️⃣ Collaboration across companies enables scale, you don't have to do it all alone. 3️⃣ With a clear vision and commitment, you can achieve anything.
