Founded by President Mikhail Gorbachev in 1993, GCI (www.gcint.org) is an independent non-profit and non-governmental organisation that works to address the inter-connected global challenges of security, poverty eradication and environmental degradation through a combination of high level advocacy and local projects. GCI is present in some 30 countries and has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
