We are pleased to announce the launch of a new map layer dedicated to monitoring torrential rains. Torrential rains are one of the causes of direct damage to plants and often cause flooding and/or excess water. Thanks to this layer, you will be able to: - Identify areas at risk of heavy rains with increased precision; - Improve your analyses of claims related to heavy rains; - Optimise claim and risk management strategies We consider rains to be torrential if the flow rate at a given time is greater than 15mm/h (level 1), 25mm/h (level 2), 35mm/h (level 3) and 50mm/h (level 4). The image shows the stormy episode of September 7, 2024 in the Alès basin (north of Montpellier) with torrential rains above 35mm/h.
