It's time to reflect on the success of the inaugural Saudi-Swiss Fintech Forum! Four members of our team - Avinash, Dr. Erhan Ermis, Akın and Güneş - were in Riyadh for this trailblazing event after months of hard work from our team behind the scenes. Cross-functional collaborations and ambitious, innovative partnerships are what Hyphen always looks to facilitate. This forum exemplified that spirit by bringing key players from two leading countries together to create new synergies and look for new opportunities. What has happened to the site of the Berlin Wall since its demise 35 years ago? Permanent reminders remain, such as the East Side Gallery and the street stones marking its course. But did you know there is also a 100-mile cycling and walking route where once the controversial structure stood? With most of our team now heading home from Berlin after our final co-working retreat of 2024, this #weekendread looks at how the site of a symbol of division and oppression has in its own way become a site for community and openness in and around the German capital.

Retired Australian Brigadier Barry McManus AM, CSC has more than a few war stories from his 36-year career – but he also has plenty of others, too. His decades of service in the military saw him lead operations all over the world, put him in life-and-death situations, and involved him training the next generation. Having made a second career for himself in consulting, Barry now partners with us on defence projects and is one of our longest-serving professional partners.
