Today, at the #2024MeetingwithManufacturersAndSuppliers, IGBA - International Generic and Biosimilar medicines Association’s Secretary General, Susana Almeida, spoke about the work that IGBA does, addressed ecosystemic issues, and proposed solutions for expanding access to quality health products through partnerships and systems strengthening. Among the areas requiring action are market #sustainability, divergent #regulatory requirements, limited supply chain #diversification, and unbalanced #IP systems. Solutions include encouragement of pro-competition policies, regulatory convergence and #harmonization, incentives to investments in manufacturing, robust #patent quality criteria. We believe this can be achieved through #partnerships and #collaborations based on trust, open and regular dialogue, and converging practical targets. Thanks to the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for giving a space to the international voice of generic and biosimilar medicines suppliers and manufacturers!
