IIHF President Luc Tardif visits the Asian Winter Games in Harbin.🇨🇳 The 9th Asian Winter Games just came to a close in Harbin, China. The last edition was held in Sapporo, Japan, in 2017. The Asian Winter Games are an event of the Olympic Council of Asia: 12 event days, 21 teams, 55 games and 180 practices alongside a top organization with an impressive Opening Ceremony. 🎤 “The organization of the event was excellent, the IIHF trusts China is able to successfully organize such events and they provided a very good platform for all athletes. Our organization supported the event with technical matters and suggestions to the Organizing Committee as well as to the Olympic Council of Asia”, noted IIHF President, Luc Tardif. #IIHF #InternationalIceHockeyFederation

Russia and Belarus not reincorporated into 2025/2026 IIHF Championship Season. Following its latest meeting, the IIHF Council believes it is not yet safe to reintegrate the Russian and Belarusian National and Club Teams to its championships for the 2025-2026 season. As the current security conditions do not allow the necessary requirements for the organization of tournaments guaranteeing the safety of all, the IIHF must maintain the current status quo until further notice. The IIHF Council will continue to monitor the situation, with the latest date to determine if it is safe to reincorporate Russia and Belarus for the 2026/2027 Championship season in May 2026 at the IIHF Council meeting ahead of the IIHF Annual Congress. #IIHF #InternationalIceHockeyFederation

Sustainability Workshop helps IIHF establish its strategy.🚀 The IIHF Sustainability Committee and the IIHF Facilities Committee together with a sustainability expert from Bloom Up – a global consultancy agency based in Switzerland - conducted a joint workshop to further develop the IIHF's sustainability agenda. The workshop focused on developing sustainability goals, identifying key stakeholders, and establishing a structured action plan for long-term environmental and social responsibility within ice hockey.🏒 The primary goals of the workshop involved: ✅ Aligning IIHF's sustainability practices with global sports standards. ✅ Identifying stakeholders and define their roles in driving sustainable initiatives. ✅ Developing a structured action plan, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms, to track sustainability progress. ✅ Encouraging collaboration among IIHF committees, external experts, and stakeholders. 🔗 Read more at IIHF.com: https://lnkd.in/eeyvnqhk #IIHF #InternationalIceHockeyFederation #Sustainability

This global platform is designed to provide mentorship, resources, and opportunities for women to excel as leaders in the sport. 🏒✨ Through HER, we aim to: ✅ Build a supportive community for female coaches. ✅ Share knowledge and best practices across borders. ✅ Inspire the next generation of women in hockey leadership. "HER is more than a program - it’s a movement for change, inclusion, and growth in our sport." ✨ IIHF Hall of Fame Inductees Class of 2025 ✨ The IIHF Hall of Fame is pleased to announce its Class of inductees for 2025. The seven new members include one Builder 🇫🇮 Kai Hietarinta (FIN), and six Players. Two had sensational careers in the women’s game: 🇸🇪 Kim Martin-Hasson (SWE) 🇨🇦 Vicky Sunohara (CAN). They will be joined by four equally accomplished men: 🇸🇪 Henrik Lundqvist (SWE) 🇩🇰 Frans Nielsen (DEN) 🇸🇰 Zdeno Chara (SVK) 🇨🇿 David Vyborny (CZE)   The IIHF Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on medal day at the 2025 Men’s World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden, 25 May 2025. The IIHF’s Historical Committee has decided on this year’s recipients of its Contributors’ Awards in conjunction with the IIHF Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for 2025. ✨ ➡️ Norway’s Jon Haukeland will receive the Paul Loicq Award for his contributions to international hockey ➡️ The Richard “Bibi” Torriani Award goes to Leszek Laskiewicz of Poland ➡️ The IIHF Media Award goes to Paul Graham of TSN ➡️ The Johan Bollue Award will be presented to Jim Aldred For the first time, there will be two honourees for the Milestone Award—the 2002/03 Danish men’s national team, and the two Swedish men’s teams from 2006 that won gold at the Olympics and World Championship. The Contributors’ Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, 24 May 2025 prior to the semi-finals games of the Men’s World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden.
