<International Development Policy | Revue internationale de politique de développpement> is a peer-reviewed journal that promotes cutting-edge research and policy debates on global development. At the interface between the academic and policy worlds, it publishes original contributions by researchers and reflective practitioners from developing, emerging and advanced economies. DevPol engages scholars and policymakers to analyse and debate development policies at the strategic, institutional and discursive levels, and to question their conceptualisation, relevance, implementation and impact. DevPol links up with international policy negotiations involving Geneva-based organisations in the areas of trade, human rights and humanitarian law, global health, environment, labour, migration and others. Activities: DevPol organises events, debates, and workshops to promote critical and constructive exchanges of ideas between policy makers, practitioners and academics on key development challenges across stakeholder communities (i.e. from developing, emerging as well as industrialised economies). Researchers are encouraged to consider institutional and operational constraints faced by policy makers and practitioners while the latter are offered an opportunity to reflect on policy discourse as well as operational strategies and practices against relevant academic debates. DevPol publishes: - Thematic issues on key development policy challenges; and - Stand-alone articles analysing topics related to international development and cooperation. In addition to online and print publications, the journal organises and participates in public and closed-door events where authors and experts discuss the articles and policy issues at stake.

Book out now 📚 Missing Dollars: Illicit Financial Flows from Commodity Trade Generating new evidence on trade-related IFFs through analysing transaction-level data from gold exports out of Ghana. Unpacking the political economy dynamics to understand why transfer-pricing reforms have limited success in reducing IFFs. Evaluating the practicability of alternative approaches to countering trade mispricing in low-income countries. These are just some results from a six-year interdisciplinary research partnership between ETH NADEL Center for Development and Cooperation, the CCDP - Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding of the Graduate Institute Geneva , Centre for Development and Environment (CDE), University of Bern, the ISSERUG of the University of Ghana, and the National Institute for Economic Research in Laos. The launch of the book Missing Dollars: Illicit Financial Flows from Commodity Trade in Geneva this week was organised by the CCDP - Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding as a side event to the Annual General Meeting of the IGFMining. Such cooperation between science and politics is essential to advance evidence-based policy-making. This also became clear when the panellists discussed, among other things, the opportunities and risks of political innovations such as Ghana's gold-for-oil scheme or new mechanisms for financing the costly extraction of raw (energy transition) materials. Plenty of good reasons to continue researching IFFs.
