With #COP29 concluding, ISO, IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and UL Standards & Engagement reaffirm the need to leverage the power of standards in moving forward with COP outcomes. Along with eight other organizations, the Standards Pavilion at COP29 became a hub of innovation and collaboration, showcasing how globally agreed standards can turn climate commitments into measurable actions.🌱 🔋From adoption of enhanced NCDs and an establishment of international carbon market standards, Pavilion partners see a role for #InternationalStandards to support the event’s key milestones. In previous COPs, standards often took a backseat in conversations about tackling climate change. But this year, we set out to change that together with our partners. For the first time, we created the #StandardsPavilion, a shared space where standards took center stage in the climate conversation. 💫Months ago, alongside our incredible partners, we embarked on a journey to bring this vision to life. Our shared goal was simple but powerful: Standards accelerate climate action. The dedication and passion poured into this effort by everyone involved has been nothing short of inspiring. It’s that energy that made the Standards Pavilion such a buzzing, dynamic space at #COP29. Over the past 2 weeks, we welcomed ISO members, technical experts, youth leaders, regulators, private sector representatives, academics, and more to a programme of 60 sessions. What resonated throughout was this: each of us has a role in transforming climate commitments into meaningful action—enabled and strengthened by standards. 🔋 To our partners—thank you. 🙏 This pavilion was more than a physical space; it was a vision made real through collaboration, hard work, and belief in the power of standards. Together, we’ve built a foundation for even greater impact in the years to come. And that’s a wrap for us at #COP29! 🌏   As the event draws to a close, we are proud to reflect on the partners and people that have shaped our success during these past weeks.    🤝 The #StandardsPavilion, hosted by 11 partners, was a vibrant hub featuring 60 sessions and countless discussions! Collaboration was the driving force behind our vision – bringing together diverse perspectives from a range of stakeholders to achieve meaningful #ClimateAction. With great success, we created a dedicated space speaking with one voice: International Standards accelerate climate action.👏   🌱 Our diverse onsite delegation—including ISO members, technical experts, and #YouthLeaders —brought lively energy to the pavilion. Their collective expertise highlighted how International Standards provide a coherent approach to tackling #ClimateChange, ensuring actions are effective, transparent, and globally unified. We showcased the power of standards, advocating for their crucial role in national climate policies and COP29 outcomes.
