🌊 Empower Ocean Conservation with Your Smartphone! 🌊 At Minerva Bunkering, we are committed to the health, biodiversity, and sustainability of our oceans. That's why we are thrilled to announce our project with HUB Ocean to develop of the innovative Citizen Sea mobile app, now available on both Apple and Android! 📱 What is Citizen Sea? Citizen Sea is a mobile app designed to empower anyone with a connection to the ocean—whether you're a dedicated seafarer or simply a passionate ocean enthusiast. The app allows users to capture and upload photographs of unique data points they observe at sea. These could be negative aspects such as pollution, debris, or marine hazards, or positive aspects such as marine wildlife, aquatic plants, or natural phenomenon like bioluminescence. 🌍 Why did Minerva help develop this app? Our oceans are vast and largely unexplored, with significant gaps in survey data. By helping to develop Citizen Sea, we hope to contribute to filling these gaps. The data collected through the app will be sent directly to HUB Ocean, where it will populate their comprehensive Ocean Data Platform. This initiative is another step towards achieving a more complete understanding of our marine environments, ultimately aiding in their preservation and sustainable management. 📊 How can people get involved? We encourage everyone with a love of the ocean to download and use the Citizen Sea app. You don't have to be one of our talented seafarers. Your contributions can make a significant impact on ocean research and conservation efforts. Every photographic data point collected helps scientists and researchers gain valuable insights into areas of the ocean that are currently underrepresented in existing data sets. 🌟 Join Us in Making a Difference! Download Citizen Sea today and become a part of this global effort to protect and understand our oceans. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the health of our planet. 📱 Download on Apple App Store: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eKWjm3n6 📱 Download on Google Play Store: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eY95RJqd #CitizenSea #OceanConservation #Sustainability #MarineBiodiversity #HUBOcean #OceanData #ClimateAction #SustainableOceans

🎉 🚢 We are thrilled to celebrate the arrival of our newest LNG dual-fuel bunker tanker, M/V Amalthea at a ceremony in Singapore. It was wonderful to share this milestone with esteemed guests, including our dedicated staff and valued customers. Amalthea is the first of our 8,000 dwt LNG dual-fuel bunker tankers, built at Jiangmen Hangtong shipyard and flagged in Singapore. Designed to the highest industry standards, she features twin Yanmar LNG dual-fuel engines and a 100m³ LNG fuel tank, showcasing our commitment to sustainability and innovation in marine fuel supply. The vessel was welcomed by our CEO, Tyler Baron, followed by a blessing ceremony to mark the occasion led by Kostas Polydakis Minerva’s Head of Fleet. And finally, of course, the traditional breaking of the champagne bottle on the hull by Amalthea’s ceremonial godmother, Zhu Hong, one of the founding partners of Mercuria Asia. We are excited to see Amalthea commencing operations and supporting Minerva’s customers in Singapore. 🌍⚓ #Bunkering #MarineFuel #Shipping #LNG #Singapore #MinervaBunkering

🚢🌊 Rescue at Sea: A Testament to Our Seafarers 🌊🚢 In a remarkable display of professionalism and seamanship, the crew of our vessel KERKYRA recently undertook a rescue mission at sea. After receiving a distress call about a yacht off the coast of Trinidad, our team sprang into action. With swift coordination and preparation, they navigated to the given position and successfully rescued two individuals from the distressed yacht. The rescued persons, thankfully in good health, were brought aboard our vessel and cared for. Our crew then demonstrated seamless teamwork by coordinating with another sailing vessel to ensure the safe transfer of the survivors, who were later brought ashore. This operation underscores the dedication and readiness of our seafarers to go above and beyond. Their swift actions ensured the safety of those in distress, embodying the true spirit of maritime solidarity. We appreciate the bravery and hard work of our crew members who help make the seas a safer place. 🌟👏 #Seafarers #RescueAtSea #Maritime #Teamwork

See the Energy Transition in action. At Minerva Bunkering, we're proud to be supporting the clean energy revolution by providing reliable bunkering solutions for renewable energy projects. In these photos, we're refuelling Orion - the DEME Group offshore heavy lift vessel - as part of our new long term supply contract. Orion is installing the monopiles for the 176 wind turbines of the 2.6 GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project. Once complete it will provide enough clean energy to power up to 660,000 homes. Offshore wind is a rapidly growing source of clean energy, and at Minerva, we're committed to playing our part in making it a success. #offshorewind #bunkering #energytransition #MinervaBunkering

Tyler Baron, our CEO, and Guillermo Sanchez, had an inspiring visit to Bayes Shipping Society at Bayes Business School. It marked the start of our collaboration to equip future business minds with the knowledge to navigate the exciting world of shipping and commodities. They gave a presentation about our company, showcasing our business and some of the innovative projects we're working on. The students came armed with insightful questions, revealing a genuine passion for the industries that we operate in. We were impressed with their talent and enthusiasm. This is just the beginning as we're looking forward to creating a forthcoming internship program with Bayes. Look out for the launch and stay tuned for more events and presentations, all of which will provide students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience of our business. #shipping #bunkers #futureleaders #careerdevelopment

Great to have Kostas Polydakis, our head of shipping, discussing this important topic, as the lack of transparency in the bunkering industry contributes to significant unnecessary costs per year - including those lost to carbon pricing due to overstated consumption. That’s why we are committed to drive change in the bunkering sector, in particular, by using of technology and digitalization to improve transparency in the industry and its supply chains.
This week, our CEO, Kostas Polydakis, attended a conference on EU ETS, organised by Classification Society ABS, in Athens, Greece and discussed the transition of shipping into more sustainable operations with fellow maritime leaders, policy makers, government representatives, shipowners and financiers. He highlighted the need for an even playing field with global measures, led by the IMO as shipping’s international regulatory body. He also described that at the same time, shipping’s inclusion in EU ETS will: • make the cost of carbon emissions a reality to all, • create familiarity with carbon pricing and trading, and • get all stakeholders in a vessels’ commercial operation involved and affected. This in itself may eventually lead to an accelerated adoption of a global scheme led by the IMO. More specifically, he described how the lack of transparency and endemic problem of quantity losses in the bunkering industry contribute to overstated consumption and corresponding losses from the cost of EU-ETS allowances.
