Scrub tech's experience with the Naviswiss Team Hear from Katelin Smith, a certified surgical technologist, as she shares her experience working with the Naviswiss team: "The way the Naviswiss team demonstrates the system is clear and informative. It's something we can actually understand." For scrub techs, introducing new technology into the OR often brings concerns about disrupting established workflows, managing additional equipment, and maintaining efficiency during procedures. At Naviswiss, we understand these challenges and focus on ensuring a smooth transition, making it easier for teams to adapt while enhancing surgical outcomes without complicating the process. -- Interested in finding out more about our approach? A recent article by BONEZONE Magazine | OMTEC Expo explored the ongoing movement of joint replacements, spine procedures, and sports medicine surgeries to ASCs. The projected growth is significant, with the US ASC market expected to reach $15 billion by 2030 and a 40% increase in outpatient hip and knee replacements over the next decade. Key priorities include: ✅ Streamlined tools that simplify workflows. ✅ Efficient processes to manage high case volumes with smaller teams. ✅ Affordable, accessible technology that supports precision without unnecessary complexity. ✅ Instrument management systems to ensure everything arrives on time. ✅ Surgery in a box kits that provide everything needed for specialized procedures. As ASCs continue to become central to orthopedic care, it's important to consider how surgical environments are changing. Surgeons are working with smaller teams, tighter schedules, and are increasingly reliant on precision technologies that don't compromise efficiency. In our experience, ASCs value tools that simplify workflows and support consistency across high-case volumes. The ability to perform complex procedures in these settings with the same accuracy and outcomes as hospitals is a major focus for those in the field. It raises a key question for all of us working with ASCs: How do we ensure that innovation continues to align with the realities of these fast-paced environments? How is your facility preparing for these changes? Source: https://lnkd.in/esswkrzz -- Interested in how Naviswiss is helping ASCs navigate these changes? Welcome to the team, Breanna Lyn! We’re excited to introduce Breanna Lyn as Naviswiss’ new Product Manager for our hip and knee product lines. Based in Pennsylvania, Breanna will be driving our product strategy and development, working closely with our teams to ensure our solutions meet the specific needs of clinicians and patients alike. Outside work, Breanna enjoys staying active: “Although I enjoy playing many different sports, I’ve always had an affinity for Track & Field. I had the opportunity to compete at Penn Relays in high school, in college, and even as a corporate entry in the Distance Medley Relay last year.” We’re looking forward to seeing her bring her experience, focus, and energy to the team. #TeamAppreciation #Naviswiss #NavigationTechnology #Orthopedics #MedTech

When evaluating enabling technologies for total knee arthroplasty, ASCs must carefully weigh the options before bringing in a new system. An analysis of 90-day episode-of-care (EOC) costs found that rTKA may reduce overall expenses due to fewer readmissions and improved discharge outcomes. Notably, navigation-assisted TKA delivers comparable clinical outcomes without the high upfront investment and steep learning curve. Key considerations for ASCs: Precision & Accuracy rTKA: Uses 3D pre-op models and haptic feedback for precise bone cuts and ligament balancing, which can enhance outcomes but requires expensive robotic systems and CT imaging. Cost & Accessibility rTKA: Significant upfront costs for robotic systems and CT scans, along with a bigger learning curve and continuous investments in training and maintenance, can strain budgets, especially for smaller ASCs. Navigating Possibilities For TKA, navigation systems offer benefits similar to robotics, with specific advantages. Navigation-assisted TKA achieves precise implant positioning and alignment without the financial burden or workflow disruptions of robotics, making it more accessible to a wider range of ASCs. By avoiding the financial burden of robotics, navigation allows ASCs to deliver excellent patient care while maintaining financial sustainability. NEW PAPER RELEASED: A Handheld, Portable Image-Based System May Outperform Computer Navigation or Robotic Platforms in Providing Accurate Acetabular Component Positioning Malposition of the acetabular component in total hip arthroplasty (THA) remains a critical concern, often necessitating costly revisions. While robotic-assisted surgery has gained attention for its potential to enhance accuracy, recent research introduces a compelling alternative: The Naviswiss handheld portable navigation system. This newly published study looks at the accuracy of the Naviswiss system in THA, focusing on intraoperative accuracy of acetabular cup positioning. Unlike traditional methods, this miniaturized device offers real-time navigation feedback, potentially streamlining procedures and reducing post-operative complications. The findings reveal promising results concluding that: "This handheld portable navigation system yielded highly accurate intraoperative component positioning values confirmed by post-operative CT scans," suggesting possible superior precision compared to reported robotic-assisted THA outcomes. These advancements are pivotal, as smaller and more accessible navigation units like Naviswiss could revolutionize hip replacement surgery, providing surgeons with enhanced accuracy and flexibility across diverse clinical settings.
