"ETH Zürich is the university with the highest number of startups with academic patent applications at the EPO, 2000–2020! " This doesn’t even include the many innovations we choose not to patent, as software, networking, and AI patents are difficult to defend and easy to create derivatives from. This is especially true for start-ups like LogicStar AI, LatticeFlow AI, NetFabric.ai, Invariant Labs, DeepCode (The Software Revolution) by Snyk.io and Snyk to name a few.
🇨🇭 Guess what?! ETH Zürich ranks N.1 and EPFL N. 5 in Europe! ETH Zürich is the university with the highest number of startups with academic patent applications at the EPO, 2000–2020! Over 1,500 European startups filed 12% of all academic patents at the EPO and Switzerland continues to reign as the world's most innovative economy. 🇨🇭 How can we further capitalize on the innovation and patents of Swiss universities? 👏 Congratulations to our Chief Scientist, Laurent Vanbever, for receiving the Dandelion Entrepreneurship Award from the ETH AI Center! We're thrilled to have you on the team at NetFabric.ai!
✨ Let’s congratulate the winners of the Dandelion Entrepreneurship Award 2024! The Dandelion Award is the first award to recognize professors for their outstanding efforts to promote entrepreneurship at ETH Zurich and beyond. This award provides a unique opportunity for students, Ph.D. candidates, and postdoctoral researchers to nominate and vote for professors who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and leadership in fostering entrepreneurship. A diverse jury of representatives from key student bodies, such as the ETH Student Project House (SPH), ETH juniors, AVETH - Academic Association of Scientific Staff at ETH Zurich (AVETH), and ETH Entrepreneur Club, then collaborate to select a deserving winner from the different departments and an additional ‘Special Award’ overall winner based on the gathered votes. Three years after its creation, the Dandelion Entrepreneurship Awards have become a well-established recognition for ETH professors, with 40 winners and nearly 200 nominations. This year, the special award was given to Tanja Zimmermann, from the Department of Materials, for championing interdisciplinary collaboration and entrepreneurship 🙌. 👏 Please give a warm applause to this year’s winners!! Roger Schibli, Nicola Aceto, Emmanuel Frossard, Nicole Wenderoth, David Basin, Laurent Vanbever, Thomas H. Zurbuchen, Morgan Trassin, Inge K Herrmann, Bart Clarysse and Christian Degen The extraordinary involvement of these Professors to promote an entrepreneurial spirit in their respective field ensures that ETH continues to be a space of exploration, creation and innovation where excellent research is transferred into practice and solves the most pressing problems of our time. We are proud of your work and hope you continue to inspire and guide the leaders of tomorrow for many more years to come. Finally, we would like to thank all ETH students, PhDs and Post-Docs who nominated the Professors, and made their work visible through these Awards. … & a final thank you to all the people who helped us organize these Awards: ETH Entrepreneur Club, ETH Student Project House, ETH juniors, AVETH - Academic Association of Scientific Staff at ETH Zurich and Talent Kick // Dr. Ann-Lauriene Schumacher (Haag), Cecilia Molina, Sarper Melik Ertekin, Andrin Melliger, Lucie Rejman, Tatiana Akhmetshina and Prasanth Bendalam

📢 We're thrilled that NetFabric is now an official #affiliate of the ETH AI Center! This partnership means a lot to us, especially since many of our team members have deep roots in #AI research at ETH Zürich. 🎓🤝 At NetFabric.ai, we blend #LargeLanguageModels (LLMs) with #MathematicalModels. While LLMs excel at processing complex data, relying on them alone can lead to inconsistencies. Instead, we use LLMs to support data processing, enhancing their output with complex mathematical models. This hybrid approach ensures accurate and consistent insights, making our #NetworkObservability platform #smarter and more #reliable. As AI is central to our mission, we strive to stay at the forefront of AI research and innovation. Being affiliated with the ETH Zurich AI Center allows us to do just that. 🌟 Many thanks to everyone who made this partnerships possible, and we're excited to collaborate as we advance the field of network observability together! 🚀
🌟 New Affiliated Startups at the ETH AI Center! 🌟 We are pleased to welcome three new startups to our network: nextesy, NetFabric.ai, and X23D AG. Each of these companies is breaking new ground in their respective fields, and we are looking forward to seeing their progress. 💼 nextesy is developing an AI-powered business management platform to address inefficiencies resulting from repetitive manual procedures in accounting and other back office processes. Co-founded by Dr. Milan Kuzmanovic, they aim to help companies streamline operations and extract valuable business insights. Their work with ETH’s Professor Torbjørn Netland and Professor Mrinmaya Sachan is laying the foundation for data-driven business transformation. 🌐 NetFabric.ai is redefining network observability by connecting data sources for real-time, actionable insights. The platform uses advanced AI and mathematical models to make alerts more meaningful, spot anomalies, and run what-if scenarios for proactive management. Founded by Benjamin Bichsel, Tobias Bühler, Marlene Brakhane, with ETH Professors Laurent Vanbever and Martin Vechev, NetFabric is helping companies diagnose network issues faster and prevent costly downtime with the help of AI. 🚀 X23D AG is changing the game in surgical guidance systems by using AI to create 3D models of patients’ anatomy during surgery. Their technology, developed at Universitätsklinik Balgrist and the University of Zurich by Dr. Hooman Esfandiari, Prof. Philipp Fürnstahl, and Prof. Dr. med. Mazda Farshad, aims to improve surgical precision with minimal intraoperative data (e.g., X-ray), opening up new possibilities in computer- and robotic-assisted surgery. Welcome to the ETH AI Center! We are happy to have you on board! Interested in learning more about our affiliated startups? Visit our website: https://lnkd.in/eBhnV67g
