Yesterday, Laura Leon Perez and I had the chance to present our interdisciplinary study at the Psychonomic Society 2024 annual meeting in New York City. The study investigates the combined use of 💭 analogical reasoning and 🤳 augmented reality for 🌿 biodiversity 🎓 education, and its impact on environmental affects, learning, and physical activity. It was an exceptional immersion in social psychology, attention, learning, memory, and other fields that I’m not overly familiar with. I especially enjoyed the Society for Computation in Psychology’s program and prof. James W. Pennebaker’s keynote reflecting on an entire career on natural language analysis for understanding psychological states. This was the final outreach as part of my PhD thesis on location-based augmented reality for biodiversity education before my viva next month, and I can say it was among the most exciting. This work is part of the NRP 77 "Digital Transformation" program/Fonds national suisse FNS and was conducted jointly at Lab-STICC (UMR CNRS 6285)/Université Bretagne Sud and the Media Engineering Institute/HES-SO Haute école spécialisée de Suisse occidentale/HEIG-VD. This particular study was a joint effort with Université de Genève Emmanuel Sander’s IDEA LAB. #locationbasedAR #augmentedreality #AR #biodiversityeducation #digitaltransformation #educationaltechnology #edTech #mediaengineering
