🔐 👁️🗨️ Regulating AI: A discussion about risks, rights, and responsibilities – based on the latest findings from NRP 77 research.   Research needs discussion. This autumn, the National Research Programme NRP 77 organised four dialogue events where selected research findings were discussed with stakeholders from practice. The final event focused on the topic "Regulating AI: Risks, Rights, and Responsibilities".   This event was held in collaboration with the Federal Office of Justice (Bundesamt für Justiz BJ). After a short introduction by Susanne Kuster from the federal office of justice, the researchers presented their studies’ findings. Afterwards, a discussion round between the audience, researchers, and representatives of practice was opened to explore the applicability of the results.   We would like to thank Susanne Kuster, Markus Christen, Daniel Kettiger, Ladina Caduff, Estelle Pannatier, Stefan Wipraechtiger, Abraham Bernstein, and Mathis Brauchbar for their valuable insights and contributions to this event. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Launch of the Responsible Digital Health Innovation Roadmap (NRP 77)   The future of healthcare is digital. But with great potential comes great responsibility. But how can we ensure everyone benefits from this progress without overlooking potential risks?   Effy Vayena’s team at the Health Ethics & Policy Lab, ETH Zurich, has collaborated with key stakeholders to develop a roadmap, that outlines the principles and practices for ethical and effective digital health innovation. Today, we explored these aspects at the third NRP 77 dialogue event “Skills, job profiles and professions: How the labour market is being transformed”.   During short presentations, researchers gave valuable insights into their findings regarding the topic. These findings were later discussed in three engaging break-out sessions where researchers, representatives from practice and the audience came together to share their thoughts on the presented effects of digital transformation. ⚖️ Challenges and opportunities of digitalisation in democracy 🗳️ In collaboration with the federal chancellery Bundeskanzlei BK, we got to discuss different aspects of digitalisation at today’s NRP 77 dialogue event “Digital Transformation: Challenges for Democratic Processes”. The results of select studies were presented in captivating presentations by the research teams.
