Maison of Extraleganza since 1874
Info
Piaget epitomizes daring creativity – a quality that has continued to permeate through the Maison since its beginnings in 1874. From his first workshop in La Côte-aux- Fées, Georges-Edouard Piaget devoted himself to crafting high-precision movements in a feat that formed the very foundations of our pioneering name.In the late 1950s, Piaget unveiled the ultra-thin movements that would later become the Maison’s trademark and the cornerstone of the Altiplano collection. As a true innovator of the watch and jewellery world, Piaget strongly believed in creativity and artistic values. It is within the walls of our « Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire » where master artisans continue to harness rare skills that have been preserved and perfected from generation to generation, transforming gold, stones and precious gems into dazzling works of art. Through its pursuit of masterful craftsmanship, the Maison has created emblems of daring excellence channeled into its collections including Altiplano, Piaget Polo, Limelight Gala, Possession, Piaget Sunlight, Piaget Rose and Extremely Piaget.

This year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève for Iconic Watch has been awarded to Piaget Polo 79 watch. In 1979, Piaget revealed a watch that would come to define the spirit of the 1980s, which came back to life this year for the 150th anniversary of the Maison as Piaget Polo 79. #Piaget #Piaget150 #MaisonOfExtraleganza #HouseOfGold #PiagetPolo #GPHG2024

The Clou de Paris decoration is firmly a part of Piaget’s DNA and adorned its most stylish watches in the 1970s, from round to shaped designs. Complementing this finish is a one-of-a-kind blue meteorite dial, that the Maison has reserved for extraordinary creations. Here, the blue meteorite adds a sense of rarity and distinction to the new Andy Warhol watch. From its launch in 1972, The Piaget Andy Warhol timepiece captivated the world with its allure. In 1973, Andy Warhol acquired one becoming a regular member of the Piaget Society. Today Piaget debuts a new design interpretation, featuring a stunning Clou de Paris pattern on the case and a powerful blue meteorite dial. A new chapter for this collector cult favourite. The Andy Warhol timepiece is now meeting the Clou de Paris motif, a guilloché motif featuring a jewellery-like pattern of small, pyramid-like squares. The Clou de Paris motif pushes the limits of design, to create a distinctive look of elegance with the same alluring artistry of the original gadroons. The blue dial is made from a meteorite, each specially treated to reveal a unique geometric pattern, making each piece one of a kind. One of the finest expressions of horological art: skeletonization. Intricately reducing dials and movements to their bare minimum, the process reveals the true beating heart of a watch. With incredible precision and meticulous design, Piaget has mastered the art of the skeleton movement. Technical excellence becomes a show of watchmaking expertise in this Piaget Polo – a skeleton watch that allows the world to see the movement at work. #Piaget #Piaget150 #PiagetPolo

As a nod to the Maison’s expertise in gemsetting and fearlessness with colour, the Possession rings display a dazzling rainbow of sapphires, rubies and tsavorites. The gradation of gemstones, carefully set, spin alongside a band of white diamonds in vibrant elegance. The Maison initially dedicated itself to the green and white palette of the Swiss Jura mountains, refining magnificent creations in these tones. Now, Piaget translates extravagant colour into intense elegance. This is the hallmark we call Extraleganza.

An array of coloured sapphires gleam in a spectacular rainbow setting. Offset with green tsavorites, the vibrant spectrum of precious gems decorates the bezel and watch lugs. Sourcing progressively-sized, coloured gemstones of this calibre is extremely challenging. Piaget gemmologists searched long and hard for the exact colour, carat, cut, and clarity of the gems – which is why this is a numbered-edition series, each creation uniquely radiant. The intricate setting demands patience and expertise; the Maison’s gem-setters use a technique called “Sertie Descendu” to create the perfect transition in size and colour from one gemstone to the next, illuminating the brilliance of each stone.

The Piaget Polo Date High Jewellery 36mm Watch. A true fusion of Piaget signatures, in a numbered-edition timepiece. The iridescent mother-of-pearl dial is engraved using the iconic Décor Palace technique, while the bezel is set with a rainbow of sparkling gems: 17 sapphires, 5 rubies, 6 citrines, 6 tsavorite garnets, and 6 spessartite garnets. Almost 3 carats of precious trapezoid-cut stones, patiently collected by Piaget gemologists and assembled over the course of 7 hours by the Maison’s experts. An encounter of elegance and extravagance, the refined timepiece is flawlessly calibrated for everyday use. A sapphire crystal case back showcases the 500P1 automatic movement, proudly bearing the Maison’s coat of arms on the oscillating weight.
