ARX is proud to have contributed to the successful completion of the San Giorgio tunnel on the Verona-Brescia high-speed railway line. The recent breakthrough marks a significant milestone in this project. Mont Blanc Tunnel reopens after major renovation After a 15-week closure, the Mont Blanc Tunnel reopened on schedule on Monday, December 16. During this period, ARX was responsible for the design and construction management in collaboration with setec. The joint efforts of the JV contractors, SPIE BATIGNOLLES GENIE CIVIL and COGEIS SPA, enabled the renovation of 328 meters of the tunnel vault. The process began with a consolidation phase, followed by the demolition of the crown lining. After the milling phase, a drainage and waterproofing system was installed. Subsequently, reinforcement was laid, concrete was cast, and the precast elements were installed. The works were carried out in stages, progressing from the lower sections (footings) to the calotte axis.
