Very interesting research that shows that WFH can help strengthen team bonds, because it helps blend different life domains more naturally. This may seem counter intuitive if you haven't experienced it. But having worked in a remote team for many years I feel it confirms what my team and I have experienced. Recently I had the privilege of working together with a team of brilliant young minds: Anna H., Clarisse Iradukunda (MBA), Florentine Boog and Miro Ivanović I had been given the opportunity to formulate a difficult challenge for this team because we worked together in the framework of the HSLU Innovation Accelerator for Young People Management and Organisation Experts - many thanks to Stephanie Kaudela-Baum, Prof. Dr. for inviting Pleinert & Partner to join the program as a partner company! So I formulated a challenge for the team and warned them: this is one of the most difficult things to achieve. I asked them to create a concept of a workshop that would provide a fast track replicating a journey that could otherwise take years. A fast track - to thinking like those who have been part of virtual communities and have practiced distributed work since years or decades. - designed for decision makers who wish to take advantage of the advantages of boundaryless hybrid work for competitive advantage - with an added bonus of fun & team building 😊 They came up with a wild, mind opening journey of a few intense sessions, using among other the superhero theme, where participants can experience social presence independently of physical presence, build a virtual space and create shared memories. This concept will be integrated into our upcoming hybrid work optimization toolbox that we have been developing together with our academic partners from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art – Ingo Stolz, Moana Monnier, Rea Haldemann, Martina Suter Sutter, Nathaly Tschanz and Oliver T. Interesting article by Brian Doubles, President and CEO of Synchrony! He starts by saying: 'In 2021, while the business world was largely working from home, I told my company’s employees that we were never going back to the old way of working.' About this decision: 'Moving to a hybrid work model was one of the best business decisions I’ve ever made.' The results: 'More than three years later, this way of working has empowered our company to focus even more intently on building a performance culture. We’re seeing higher employee engagement and greater productivity; we’re meeting commitments to our customers and partners; and we’re driving strong business results.' He goes on to list how Synchrony has made their hybrid model successful and better than the old way of working. And there is the point! Hybrid must be approached intentionally, and in a way that is customized to your organization in order to capitalize on the superior performance that it can deliver.
