SamanTree Medical proposes a breakthrough innovation for checking complete tumor removal during surgery: the Histolog® Scanner. This novel imaging modality is a direct support during cancer surgery to achieve the common goal of improving patient quality of life by decreasing rates of re-operation. The team is fully dedicated to bringing the Gold Standard in the operating room, enabling margin assessment, in real time, at the histological detail. 🏥 Great time today with Ruben De Groote at OLV Ziekenhuis Aalst-Asse-Ninove for an instructive demonstration of intraoperative surgical margin assessment of a radical prostatectomy specimen using the Histolog Scanner from SamanTree Medical SA. 🔬 A very promising, user-friendly device that delivers beautiful FFPE-like images in just seconds! 🔮 More data is needed to evaluate the mid- and long-term oncological impact, but it’s a very exciting development, for sure. The Histolog Scanner box has officially left the office, making its way to UroKompetenz Düsseldorf for the first case tomorrow with the world-renowned Dr. Jorn H Witt who going to incorporate it into his Da Vinci Robotic Prostatectomy program in the near future. Using the Histolog® Scanner in breast-conserving surgery (BCS) reduced reoperation rates from 30% to just 10%. The results were presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. The study was conducted at Frauenklinik St. Louise in Paderborn, Germany by Prof. Dr. med. Michael P. Lux, Principle Investigator.
