Time to wrap up our Mug Cup Challenge! ☕ ✨ Over the last few months, our t’charta mug has embarked on an incredible journey, exploring stunning natural landscapes, bustling cityscapes, and even the hidden gems off the beaten path. It has mastered new territories, proving that a simple mug can be a true adventurer! Now, as it returns to Zurich, it’s time to celebrate its adventures and crown our winning photo... (drum roll, please!) 🥁 The winner of the Mug Cup Challenge is... Joram Kadoch who taught our t’charta mug to soar over the Lithuanian and Latvian plains! Congratulations on capturing an incredible shot that inspired us all to dream bigger and travel farther. With the most team votes, your photo brought the spirit of adventure to life.  Joram Kadoch has generously waived his prize and chosen to donate it equally to Schweizerische Rettungsflugwacht Rega and OceanCare. We will gladly transfer the donation in his name. A huge thank you to everyone who joined in and shared their creativity—our t’charta mug couldn’t have asked for better travel companions! In November, we had the pleasure to host another insightful Roundtable with insurance companies. This time centred around the current and future developments in payments. The event provided a look into 2040 and a reflection of electronic bill presentment and payment in the B2B space.  Here are our key takeaways: 1. There is movement in the market as timeline for discontinuation of LSV+/BDD in 2028 is set. Banks are taking different approaches to the topic. While some banks recommend migrating the Direct Debit clients to eBill Direct Debit, PostFinance and UBS continue to offer an intra-bank Direct Debit offering. Interbank processing of LSV+/BDD will be not possible anymore, unless the banks find a new way of collaboration leveraging ISO20022 standards.  2. Mehmet Sümer (PostFinance) illustrated the benefits of electronic invoicing in the B2B space. The service portfolio of PostFinance enables interoperability between different ERP systems/Billing systems, and different e-invoicing formats. The institute offers technological approaches to convert current paper billers to electronic invoicing making the change as smooth and cost efficient as possible.   3. Thanks to our participants we were able to take a glimpse to the future of payments. How will payments look like in the year 2040? There is high uncertainty of outcomes, as many outside factors drive, the way commerce is done and thus the way payments are handled. But we see a clear picture: Apps and especially security apps on a mobile device (mobile phone, glasses, or any other type of wearable) will become the key turntable in the authorization and validation of payment transaction. Artificial intelligence will increase the sophistication of fraud attacks (scam and phishing), which forces the financial intermediaries to request more parameters and biometrics to validate the authorization and identify the purpose behind a payment. Decentralized marketplaces and platforms offer customers more flexibility in commerce, and more freedom of choice with less risk of market dominating gatekeepers. In sum, markets are more efficient. 🚀 But how do we settle commerce and trade on decentralized platforms like Enterprise Blockchain Solutions? Julien Donnet, Head Product Management of SIX Digital Exchange, and Dennis Flad, Partner at t'charta and chair of the Enterprise Blockchain Working Group at Crypto Valley Association, discussed exactly these questions in a fireside chat at the HeadsQuarter.
