I am delighted to be teaching and researching at NYU as a Global Professor of Law in the spring semester of 2025. What a fascinating time to be teaching tax treaty law and international tax policy in the U.S.! My classes have already covered not only the U.S. withdrawal from the global tax treaty ordered on January 21, 2025, but also the first round of negotiations at the UN in New York on the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation. I am particularly grateful for the opportunity to discuss this topic from different perspectives during an insightful event with Christoph Schelling, Basil Peyer and Benjamin Frei at the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the UN in New York. It is truly inspiring to share perspectives and knowledge with the next generation of leaders in international tax law. A big thank you to my colleague Prof. H. David Rosenbloom and the Hauser Global Law School Program for being such great hosts. Last but not least, a big thank you to my students for their curiosity and enthusiasm for international tax law. I look forward to further meaningful discussions in New York!
