However, our DMC technology compensates for static or fixed disturbances with ease. The real test comes with dynamic, unstable magnetic fields caused by electric motors or other equipment. Alternative Alignment Methods for LRF Modules When Collimators Aren't Available When precision tools like cameras or collimators aren't on hand, aligning your Laser Range Finder (LRF) module can be a challenge. 👀 Here are some practical methods to keep you on target: 1️⃣. Utilizing Distant Targets: ◾ Find a Reference Point: Place a vertical and horizontal pole approximately 200 meters away, or select a natural landmark like a chimney. ◾ Horizontal Alignment: Continuously measure while adjusting the horizontal orientation until the laser hits the target and returns the correct distance. Center your camera or binoculars to this position. ◾ Vertical Alignment: Repeat the process in the vertical plane and adjust accordingly. ❗ This method provides a quick, rough alignment suitable for basic testing. For optimal range and accuracy, using a collimator with a camera is still recommended. 2️⃣. Using Laser Viewing Cards: ◾ Make the Invisible Visible: Laser viewing cards have a photosensitive area that emits a visible spot where the laser beam strikes. ◾ Easy Boresighting: Align your camera or binoculars to the visible spot for straightforward boresighting. ❗ This technique is most effective when the laser viewing card is close to the LRF module and works with lasers emitting at 1550 nm wavelength, or 830 nm if using our integrated coaxial laser pointer.
