This week our management team from Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Italy, Moldova and Romania gathered for a strategy meeting. Our agenda was packed with insightful discussions and presentations. We started with an impulse speech on innovation at Bucher Emhart Glass by Matthias Kümmerle, followed by an exploration of thermally tempered glass and its potential. We focused on improving the customer experience and gained insight into packaging and packaging waste regulations from Vanessa Chesnot of FEVE. We also discussed our decarbonisation roadmap, participated in a feedback culture workshop and explored the role of AI, all while setting our Group targets for 2025. This intensive dialogue not only strengthened our intercultural understanding, but also celebrated the diversity of our corporate culture. As we reflected on past developments, we also focused on preparing for 2025, combining current challenges with innovative ideas to position Vetropack for the future. The insights gained this week will be instrumental in ensuring that Vetropack, with its strong team spirit, innovation and sense of responsibility, successfully takes the next steps in realising Strategy 2030+. #Vetropack #Strategy2030 #Teamwork #Vetrofamily

“Optimising processes means getting to the heart of daily activities and understanding them thoroughly, breaking down barriers between departments, involving colleagues and questioning everything. Only with a shared vision and in-depth analysis can we go beyond what we take for granted and dedicate ourselves to projects that really make a difference,” says Riccardo Riso. As Group Performance Manager at Vetropack Group, he has been leading the company’s Performance Improvement Programme (PIP) since 2022. 🔊 Last autumn, we held a group-wide engagement survey to hear directly from our employees about what truly matters in their daily work experience. Based on this feedback, each country has identified topics that they specifically want to improve. One year on, we are happy to take a look at the initiatives that have emerged from our production sites in recent months: In Austria, flexible lunch options are in place, and new sports activities and streamlined internal processes are on the way. 🍽️🏃 Slovakia enhanced communication with new info boards, a suggestion box, and better support for younger employees through training and adaptation initiatives. 📢📥 In Kyjov, improvements focus on reducing heat and dust in production and reopening the dental clinic, along with social events to boost team morale. And there are also social events and upcoming small initiatives known as "Little Things for Vetropack". 🦷🌟 Moldova is fostering team spirit through sporting activities such as the Chisinau Marathon and a Bike Day to Orheiul Vechi, blending team spirit with local culture. 🏃♂️🚴♀️ Italy launched the Book Crossing initiative, an HR feedback box, and an inclusion project in the canteen introducing different cultural dishes, as well as walking groups during the breaks and a fruit corner for health. 📖 🍎 Croatia is improving workwear and workplaces for safety and comfort, and conducting interactive workshops to boost internal communication. 🦺🗨️ Ukraine’s “You Asked – We Did” programme brought English classes and a new physiotherapy room with treatments for musculoskeletal health. 📑 🏥 We would like to thank everyone who took part in the survey and the teams who worked on these improvements 🙏 and are working on further improvements and initiatives to improve the daily working experience at Vetropack based on employee feedback. 🙌 #vetropack #EmployerOfChoice #EmployeeEngagement

Have you ever wondered how glass bottles and jars get their shape? Did you know that there are 3 different processes to form glass products? Whether the 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬&𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰 (𝐏𝐁), the 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬&𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰 (𝐍𝐍𝐏𝐁) or the 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰&𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰 (𝐁𝐁) process is chosen, is determined by the mouth of the jar / bottle and by the weight of the product. Learn more about each process in our series. The 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬&𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰 (𝐏𝐁) process is used for the production of jars, i.e. glass products with a wide mouth. This is the key to choosing this particular process. First of all, the forming of the product takes place in the blank mould, where the mouth is formed by the thick and short forming plunger. The so-called parison is preformed in this way. With a rotating arm, also called a transfer arm, the preformed glass is turned around correctly into the blow-mold, hold by the finish tool. In the second step, the glass container is getting it’s final shape by blowing, while the transfer arm with the finish tool rotates back to the preform side. The smallest container which we produce by this process is a jar with a volume of 30 ml and the largest one has a volume of 4250 ml. So, next time you open a jar, you will exactly know how it was made. 👍 #Vetropack #PressBlowProcess #Expertise #glasspackaging
