We are thrilled to introduce our new column 'Amplify with Alexandra Steinacker-Clark, a monthly series set to feature art market musings, interviews, and voices from the VOLTA community in the lead up to the 20th Anniversary edition in our home city of Basel. After studying History of Art at Undergraduate and Masters level, Alexandra spent the next 8 years working in auction houses and galleries. She now runs the All About Art podcast, alongside directing NXT GEN, a programme for emerging arts professions in collaboration with the Association for Women in the Arts. A note from Alexandra, “This first piece for VOLTA is on the topic of art fairs - I know, how unpredictable, right? I wanted to begin this column by considering why they are useful, where there is room for improvement, and why I think fairs like VOLTA are special”.
