Who we are 🐧

Every year, 1/3rd of the world's food production is wasted, accounting for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions. GoNina is a mission-driven climate and food tech start-up located in Zurich that aims to tackle this huge problem. We help restaurants, bakeries & supermarkets reduce their food waste with AI-powered demand forecasts and a platform that turns surplus food into sales.


The role 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

As a Business Development / Sales Lead / Manager at GoNina, you'll play a key role in driving the adoption of our solutions. Your work will involve a mix of phone outreach, in-person visits to restaurants, bakeries and other food vendors, and building relationships with potential and existing clients. This role is ideal for someone who loves connecting with people, thrives in dynamic environments, and is excited to help businesses reduce food waste and increase profits.

  • Compensation: attractive cash salary for an early-stage startup, plus participation in GoNina’s employee participation programme (PSOP)
  • Capacity: full-time (100%)
  • Location: Zurich (mix of field-work, in-person at the office and work-from-home flexibility)

Your responsibilities 📈

This role is a hybrid role involving both SDR and ABM activities. You will be working on the first contact outreach and then maintaining a relationship with Vendors through to customer success:

  • Drive sales through direct outreach, including phone calls and physical visits to potential clients' locations
  • Develop, experiment with and execute sales strategies to onboard restaurants, bakeries, and retailers onto our platform
  • Automate SDR tasks such as lead generation, pipeline management, and outreach efforts to maximize efficiency
  • Own the CRM system to track sales activities, pipeline progress, and client interactions and identify opportunities to improve sales efficiency
  • Gather client feedback to help refine and improve our products and collaborate closely with the marketing and product teams to align sales efforts with overall company strategy
  • Work with the team on whatever else arises - every week is full of surprises 🌈


Who you are 🦹

  • Passionate about sustainability and creating meaningful change in the food industry
  • Fluent in Swiss German and English, other languages are a plus
  • Striving in phone-based and in-person sales strategies
  • Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally in the horeca / food / gastronomy or start-up environment. Revenue operations (RevOps) experience is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly
  • Self-motivated, strong ownership & willingness to take initiative and get your hands dirty in a dynamic start-up environment
