How can map planimetric deformations reveal copying relationships? I’ve just published a paper in Cartography and Geographic Information Science exploring this very question! 📚 In our paper, titled "Exploring Cartographic Genealogies through Deformation Analysis: Case Studies on Ancient Maps and Synthetic Data" we study how deformative patterns can be used to uncover hidden cartographic genealogies, using a synthetic dataset to evaluate the accuracy of our methodology. 🌐 Check out the full article here:
