Research from GSEM Professor Davide La Vecchia, along with Chaonan Jiang, and Riccardo Rastelli introduces an innovative and flexible model, the Graph Generalized Linear Latent Variable Model (GGLLVM). It is designed to uncover hidden factors that influence network connections, making it particularly useful for understanding systems like trade relationships. In practical use, such as studying European commodities trading, this method can reveal how different trade partners interact, their import/export tendencies, and provide information on the specific goods being traded.
