Sprachverständlichkeit ist der Schlüssel für eine erfolgreiche Kommunikation. Zu den Faktoren, die die Sprachverständlichkeit beeinflussen, zählen z. B. Hintergrundgeräusche, Abstand zum Sprecher, Akustik der Umgebung und Nachhall. In Situationen, in denen diese Faktoren den Signal-Rausch-Abstand (SNR) beeinträchtigen, kann die Sprachverständlichkeit noch immer eine Herausforderung darstellen. Die besten Ergebnisse erzielen Hörgeräte, wenn der Abstand zwischen Hörgeräteträger und Sprecher maximal 1,5 m beträgt. Nimmt der Geräuschpegel oder der Abstand zum Sprecher zu, ist zusätzliches Zubehör erforderlich, um die Sprachverständlichkeit trotz Abstand und Geräuschpegel zu gewährleisten. Mit Roger kann die Hörgeräteleistung verbessert werden. Roger-Mikrofone wurden speziell entwickelt, um Hintergrundgeräusche zu dämpfen und die Stimme des Sprechers direkt an ein Hörgerät bzw. den Soundprozessor eines Cochlea-Implantats zu übertragen. Auf diese Weise können Ihre Kunden auch in sehr lauten Umgebungen, wie in Restaurants, bei Meetings oder in der Schule, uneingeschränkt an Gesprächen und Aktivitäten teilnehmen.

Today, I had the pleasure of having lunch with Mr P to test out his new Phonak Roger on V3... With a profound sensorineural hearing loss, identified at the age of 3, Mr P has always struggled in noisy environments where conversations can easily get drowned out. Being someone who thrives on social interactions, it's an area that he would historically avoid due to not hearing clearly amidst background noise. But today was different... Equipped with the Roger On V3, we ate at a bustling Côte Restaurants in Central London, and the moment we walked thought the door, my inner voice said "This is never going to work," given how noisy it was. Whilst it was by no means perfect, there was a huge difference when Roger was in use, allowing for both free flowing sparkling water and conversation. The joy on his face was priceless.
