We are very pleased with the successful outcomes of the dialogue and workshop held in Geneva on 25 February 2025. The participants skillfully addressed all aspects, angles, and perspectives of the topic, seamlessly integrating theory, policy, and practice. They focused on the role of ADR in resolving IP disputes, with the overarching goal of achieving outcomes that benefit all stakeholders. Throughout the session, all forms of #ADR were explored in depth, and a comprehensive examination of various types of IP disputes—whether standalone or as part of broader #investment disputes—was conducted by the participating experts. The International Law Association - #GCC Branch (#ILAGCC) is proud to have played a key role in the success of this specialized dialogue and workshop on "The Role of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Resolving Intellectual Property (IP) Disputes within Qatar, in Alignment with the UN’s SDG 16.", co-organized with: WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center ; the Office of the State of Qatar to the #WTO and Other Economic Organizations in Geneva; Qatar Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council and Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre. Following the workshop, participants will continue to build on the findings and develop a practical study on the same topic. This will culminate in the presentation of the study at the Second Edition of the International Mediation and Arbitration Conference, focusing on The Role of ADR, IP, Technology, and Sustainability Policies in Attracting FDIs and Supporting the Transformation into a Knowledge-Based Economy.
