#COP29: Benin Unveils Ambitious Climate Action Framework to Drive Green Transition and Sustainable Development A collaborative effort by international financial institutions and development partners, including the African Development Bank, the multifaceted framework includes a carbon monetization mechanism, innovative credit instruments, a common policy matrix, and advanced financing strategies. These new initiatives are designed to mobilize both public and private sector resources to address the country’s climate adaptation and mitigation priorities, supporting efforts to attain the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), while preserving debt sustainability. “With strong support from our partners, Benin is translating climate goals into concrete action… Leveraging our experience in international capital markets, like our 2021 SDG bond framework, we aim to unlock private investment to drive climate action. Today is the day! I’m thrilled to be in #Kigali for the official launch of the Country Development Effectiveness Review (CDER)—a comprehensive report showcasing the extraordinary development journey of Rwanda from 2012 to 2022 and the African Development Bank Group's pivotal role in this remarkable progress. 📚✨ One year ago, I had the privilege of embarking on an unforgettable journey through #Rwanda, traveling over 1,200 kilometers across the country—from east to west and north. 🌍 That inaugural field visit allowed me to witness firsthand the tangible impact of the Bank's partnership with Rwanda, particularly on its rural communities and most vulnerable households. It was deeply humbling to see the results up close, engage with beneficiaries, and hear their powerful stories of transformation. 💬✨ Inspired by the insights from that mission, this report highlights not only the lessons learned but also the strategic insights to shape the future of our work. 🔎💡 It reflects on a partnership that has stood the test of time, grounded in trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to sustainable development. 🤝💚 As we celebrate 🎉 60 years of partnership between Rwanda and the African Development Bank, this launch is a moment to honor our shared achievements and set our sights on creating an even greater impact. Stay tuned as we reflect on this remarkable journey and look ahead to the future! 📖✨ #AfDB #RwandaDevelopment #SustainableDevelopment #DevelopmentImpact #ResultsMatter #InclusiveGrowth #PartnershipsThatMatter #TransformationJourney #EconomicGrowth #RuralDevelopment #EmpoweringCommunities #AfricanDevelopment #60YearsOfPartnership #DrivingProgress #InnovativeSolutions #ImpactfulStories #AfDBat60
