About us
Environmental Education for a Better Earth Cameroon (eefabecameroon) is a youth lead not for profit organisation engage in activities geared towards the protection and preservation of the earth's environment and its resources. EEFABE Cameroon was created in 2017 by environmental science graduates from the university of Buea Cameroon, with the aim of empowering youths, especially those in the global south to be able to take a step forward in the protection of the earth, since the latter was not fully involve in environmental decision making. Our objectives are to use technology such as social media and internet to sensitize youths, and initiate them to actively participate in the protection of the planet earth, which is their future home and that of their future generation. Without a good living condition, one will be unable to fully engage in a course. To better engage the youths, promoting the Sustainable Development Goals is one of our primary objectives. This is because the SDGs contain all the elements that we need in order to make the world a better place in the years ahead. To make the SDGs achievable at the local level, we are engage in SDG1, SDG4, SDG13, SDG14, SDG15, SDG10, SDG17 . As a nonprofit, we empower youths with ICT skills in schools and local communities, environmental education, training in environmentally friendly income generating activities, and sensitization on climate change in local communities and social media. As global citizens, we work in collaboration with other organisations in order to reach out to more youths within and out of the country.

Key climate risks in Africa are derived from water stress, droughts, and floods. In the event of drought, children are often the ones to supply water. Here is a LinkedIn article on that. https://lnkd.in/e_Uu7UZx

Day 5 of the last part of the special session of AMCEN here in Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire. Today and tomorrow is the ministerial segment where we will be discussing with African ministers of the environment, while presenting to them the statement from civil society organisation. We believe our issues will be considered and included in the UNEA agenda. Africa is cut in the unforseen consequences of environmental stresses though they contribute little to them. Civil society organisations are very close to those vulnerable to these impacts and therefore better understand the suitable solution needed. Without state interest and support, we can't do our work. #2024rcmafrica #amcen10 #desertification #plasticpollution #BiodiversityConservation United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) UNEP-WCMC

It's day 2 of the 11th annual subcommittee meeting of the committee of permanent representatives in Nairobi Kenya. Environmental Education for a Better Earth Cameroon delegates are fully participating and engaged in it. As a civil society organisation we are working to see into it that not only member states should be taking decisions in addressing the current planetary environmental crisis that affects everyone, especially the marginalized. Everyone should be included in the process. This day will be focused on achieving a pollution free planet, the role of science and policies, environmental governance, finance and economics transformation and digital transformation. We are committed to evaluating and contributing to the work UN Environment Programme have been doing, and is planning to do, as well as providing contributions through our working group. Together we can shape the planet we want. #CPR #polution #environment #conference #climatecrisis #climatechange

Environmental Education for a Better Earth Cameroon is currently attending the Eleventh Annual Subcommittee meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) in Nairobi Kenya. The three environmental planetary crises – climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste – are intensifying. We will focus part of our interests on the briefing on the Global Foresight Report by United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) chief scientist. The report will be released next week in New York. What this report tells us is that global crises are amplifying, accelerating and synchronizing. Stay tuned for more updates. #CPR #climatecrisis #polution #conference #environment
