Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a mounting global threat to human and animal health, as well as food security. Described by the World Health Organization as "a pressing #globalhealth and #socioeconomic crisis," AMR demands urgent action. The Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation represented was honored to participate in this year’s World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW), held from November 16 to 22 in Yaoundé, #Cameroon. Organized by the #FAO Regional Office for Africa in collaboration with #AfricanUnion, #WHO, #UNEP, and #WOAH, the event brought together #healthcare practitioners, #researchers, #policymakers, #farmers, and animal rearers to address this critical issue. Under the theme "Educate. Advocate. Act Now," our team actively engaged in awareness-raising activities, highlighting the responsible use of antimicrobials. 📊🌟 As we wrap up our Restitution Workshop on Cameroon's #startup ecosystem, mapping the path to our first #StartupAct, we have been able to paint a clear picture of Cameroon's startup landscape. While our #tech sector leads at 24%, startups face serious hurdles. 93% struggle with #bureaucracy and 86% can't access enough #funding. Most founders are young (26-35), but #women make up only 19.6%. The good news? 98% of #stakeholders support a dedicated #StartupAct, with 82% believing it will boost our ecosystem. #CameroonStartupAct #Entrepreneurship
