More on how the film industry is progressing with gender equality. "Only 35% of the speaking roles in 2023 films were held by women. And that’s down from 37% the previous year. Only 18% of top-grossing films last year featured more female than male characters talking, and a whopping 77% of films featured more men speaking than women. The number of female characters in significant roles remained the same as in 2022 at a dismal 38%." We have transformed statistics into a full blown feminist movement unapologetically empowering women to break this glass ceiling. Join us in our upcoming S’HERO film festival. Children are a vital part of the work we do as organisations and institutions. In fragile contexts such as armed conflicts, pandemics, climate change, storytelling becomes a key part of donor visibility, audience engagement, creating awareness and driving fundraising efforts. But how do we capture these stories while preserving the dignity and respecting the rights of children who are part of the work we do? Join us in February in a 3 days workshop to empower NGOs, individuals and other corporate entities to tell ethically compelling stories. We hold our cultural values in high esteem: Protecting and preserving it is of great importance for a better and more focused future. Restitution does not only end at restituting heritages and cultural practices: restituting our mindset, the way we think is much more important as it is the springboard of every action we make. Together let us set the pace for a better Africa. #AfricanHeritageMatters The Art Loss Register UNESCO ICCROM UNICEF
