Imagine going to war with no #plan, or a very poorly informed and designed plan- … would you truly expect to win? Well in #education, some of us go to class without a plan. This is often so in a context where #quality #control is aspirational and nominal, and just as sub-optimal as the entire frame of provision (value-added) is expected to be, there are reasons to believe that much of these negative effects on learning and development of intellectual capacity and competences could be addressed if teachers had excellent mastery in learning design and lesson planning- a clear map of the desired, intended learning outcomes, mapped activities with indications of how is to be delivered through the environment and the identifiable signposts of success and progress. So, how does a well-crafted lesson plan serve as a #roadmap for #transformative #learning, bridging the gap between mere information transfer and genuine intellectual awakening? If you are curious to know, then this is for you! During our next #EXCEL Learning Series scheduled for December 6th (6:00 pm GMT +1)-we will explore this issue and invite teachers to consider lesson plans not just as an administrative and time management tool, but as #strategic #pathways that can fundamentally reshape how knowledge is understood, internalized, and applied. CRE@TIVE or DULL? It isn’t hard these days to spot the distinction between a class that’s alive and one that’s on life support with disengaged learners, or a creative class from one that is dull -as in lacking excitement and #intellectual juice of #imagination, #curiosity, and #wonder. With the growing influence of #technology and #AI, schools globally are reimaging their outlook on #education, shifting strategically from what students ought to know and do, to how students #think and #adapt learning in novel ways, which, applies to teacher professional learning and development. Of course, the skills, competencies, and knowledge of a teacher sit as critical factors for effective student learning and development- yet the question is how are these skills developed and where is the focus of these skills- content knowledge, classroom management, pedagogy, coaching and facilitation, relationship management, and intersectionality with teaching and learning resources… where exactly? The list goes on. Yet, what remains true is that teachers regardless of their #context need to upskill continuously. Over the last decade, we have been polishing our Pedagogical approach -#EXCEL;-read about it here https://lnkd.in/eRu-wzuF E- exploration (the adventurer) with data and evidence-gathering eX- experimentation (the researcher), and testing of ideas and hypothesis C-construction of ideas using knowledge development tools (the architect) E- evaluating the integrity and levels of truth of the knowledge (the assessor) L-lessons learned from peers, feedback, and evaluations (the introspection) Next month, we would like to offer a comprehensive overview of the model and how teachers can apply it in their classrooms alongside the tools we use for each domain. During this session, we will be exploring the full CPD programme in a 2-hour. On target, we will discuss; - how to infuse creativity and innovation in our class as a vehicle of active learning, class, and behaviour management, with strategies to scaffold learning - explore how to optimise learning through lesson design, planning, delivery, and alternative forms of assessments where students play an active role in assessing their learning - how to apply learning analytics and design small-scale interventions - how to use technology to support teaching and learning Date: 6 of December, 2025 Fees: Free from Members/ 5.000 FCFa for Non-members Time: 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm Register here https://lnkd.in/eBbJFbFW

Performance measures are important for accountability, but when we only focus on a few, we run the risk of missing the bigger picture of what really makes something performant. In 2021, we engaged in an adventure to understand the current performance management practices (such as Grades and school inspections) in secondary and primary schools in Cameroon through a few case studies, -examining their approach to holistic education and effectiveness, and the implications for teachers, and principals. The aim was to develop an agile approach to school evaluation with pipelines for staff professional development that aligns with the school’s developmental goals. This eventually led us to the EmpowerED Index Version 1.-https://lnkd.in/dBvysW6Q As we finalise the building blocks of the Quality Assurance Agency for Operational Excellence in Education, we are happy to share this work and extend the invitation to other educators, administrators’ managers, and school proprietors seeking to accelerate their performance to The EmpowerED Workshop – An Agile Approach to Effective Accountability Systems for School Improvement and Development (Version 3) During this session, we seek to explore – • How does your school identify, measure, track, and improve performance? • Examine and understand the collective mindset of the staff and leaders regarding performance and total quality management? • Develop a shared perspective on school performance management and development. • Validate the dimensions of the index. As a value-added measure, the framework provides a comprehensive approach with data from all stakeholders on the effectiveness and efficiency of the school’s operation that can inform strategic development. What You'll Learn: 1. The importance of data-driven performance metrics that matter 2. How to use an accountability system that inspires collective action 3. Strategies to implement effective monitoring and evaluation Develop strategic improvement plans based on meaningful data Workshop Details: Date: 9 November, 2024 Time: 10:00 am – 1:30 pm Venue: NESCAS, Yaoundé Targeted Audience School Principals Vice principals Department Leaders/heads School Board Members #Education #Administrators Limited to 30 participants to ensure personalized attention Reserve your spot today: https://lnkd.in/dr_TGNqa We can also work with you to transform your school's performance management from compliance-driven to improvement-focused ____________________ As of January 2025, our support services to schools, educators, and principals will follow the Standards from the EmpowerED Index.

So, we have been thinking about how best to teach children the fundamentals of #money, its origin, how it's earned, how it works....through concepts like allowance, budgeting, savings, investments, and its implications for them. While we haven't yet arrived at a coherent model with the content and delivery for impact, we are open to learning as we go. If you would like to try the worksheets with your child, please, drop a comment. Also, would appreciate it if you could share strategies or approaches would you suggest we adopt. #Financial #Literacy #Money

While we see a rise in the creation of digital ventures, startups, mergers, and acquisitions across the national territory, from E-health ventures like WASPITO, and GiftedMom, e-commerce giants like Buyam (Baobab '24) and fintech services such as SB Remit, Maviance PLC or ed-tech ventures like YAKILI, the fundamental question on getting started remains- How did these ventures start, and what were their key drivers for success, what will be required from anyone attempting to follow this path? This week, we delve into the second part of starting a #digital #venture in #Cameroon with a narrow focus on the #legal and #financial elements to consider, exploring not only the challenges and opportunities but also the critical steps to success.
Do you really know what it takes to start and grow a business in Africa? Well, it is quite easy to start a business, but very hard to grow and scale one- which explains why over 75 % of in-country startups in Africa fail We know the startup landscape in #Africa is tough, but again this same terrain presents huge opportunities for those who are equipped and prepared. Among some noticeable reasons for these failures, here are three critical domains that most entrepreneurs overlook; 📌 Legal foundation- registration, IP, taxation and regulatory dynamics 📌 Financial Model -captialisation table, revenue, and cash flow 📌 HR -a reliable pool of committed and capable talents, R&D, work policies, etc Join us, in our next #Digital #Eplore Serie on the 18th of October at 6:00pm GMT +1 with Barrister Esaya Daniel Abanda Tezo who will be discussing these issues as well as some possible solutions drawing on his wealth of experience as an experienced licensed attorney with successful work portfolios in Cameroon 🇨🇲 and Nigeria 🇳🇬 Please register here https://lnkd.in/eMu442w2 #Digital #Explore #Tech #Ventures
