  • Shrinkage porosity in die casting is an important process issue. In the process of die casting, due to the volume shrinkage of the metal when the liquid cooling solidified, and the gas is not discharged in time, it may lead to the formation of small pores or pores inside the casting. These pores not only affect the appearance quality of the casting, but more importantly, they may reduce the mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and service life of the casting. In order to solve the problem of shrinkage pores in die casting parts, manufacturers usually take a series of measures. For example, optimizing mold design to better guide the flow and exhaust of metal liquids; Control the temperature during the die casting process to ensure that the liquid metal can solidify evenly and stably; Adjust alloy composition to improve metal flow and filling capacity; Vacuum die casting technology is used to reduce the dissolution and precipitation of gas in liquid metal. In addition, infiltration treatment is also an effective solution. By utilizing the capillary action of the impregnating agent, the impregnating agent can be permeated into the pores of the casting, thus filling these defects. Infiltration treatment can not only improve the density and hardness of the casting, but also enhance its wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and extend the service life of the casting. However, it is important to note that although infiltration treatment can repair some stomatal defects, it does not completely eliminate all stomata. Therefore, the manufacturer should strictly control the process parameters in the die casting process to ensure that the quality of the casting meets the requirements. At the same time, for critical parts or high-demand castings, a higher level of inspection means may be required to ensure that there are no defects such as pores.
