Our Madrid office has hosted the 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗖𝗦 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 in association with PCS. In this symposium we analyzed the evolving role of #securitization in European banking, exploring the various approaches across jurisdictions and their implications for the global and local markets with a particular focus on Spain. Top-level speakers joined us: our lawyers Jaime de la Torre, Miguel Cruz and Laura Torrecilla, together with Ian Bell, CEO of PCS; Sergio Escobedo of the Spanish Treasury; Ángel Benito, Markets Director-General of the Spanish Securities Market Commission CNMV (Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores); and Fernando Gonzalez, senior advisor at the Banco Central Europeo. Also speaking at the event were experts Harry Noutsos and Martina Spaeth, PCS; Andreas Koutris, Aon; Akis Bis, Intrum; Fernando Fernández-Kelly, Alantra; Chris Kattan, Balbec Capital LP; Silvia Espílez, Santander; DIEGO MARTIN PEÑA, BBVA; Martín Santibáñez, CFA, INSTITUTO DE CREDITO OFICIAL; and Dan Stadnik, Financity. Referring to his speech, Jaime de la Torre emphasized: “One of the main topics that was highlighted by most of the speakers during the conference was the need for the securitization regulation reform, which will be implemented to serve as a mechanism to promote capital market union across Europe, and therefore the revitalization of the securitization market.” Miguel Cruz spoke about the symposium: "We examined current barriers in the European securitization framework and discussed what changes would be desirable to revitalize the market. Por su parte, Elisabeth de Nadal subrayó: «La gobernanza diligente de los impactos, riesgos y oportunidades en materia de sostenibilidad requiere de la implicación y coordinación de las funciones y conocimientos de las distintas áreas operativas de la empresa: desde 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝑝𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 y Riesgos, Legal y Sostenibilidad, hasta Compras, Diseño, Recursos Humanos o Márquetin». Pol Solsona añadió: «La sostenibilidad ha pasado de ser percibido como un elemento ornamental a impactar directamente en el balance de las empresas desde prácticamente todos los ángulos y quienes no hacen sus deberes, están perdiendo competitividad». Expertos del ámbito legal y de la industria de la moda se dieron cita este 28 de enero en nuestra oficina de Madrid para presentar el libro 𝟮𝟬 𝙘𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙗𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙡 𝘿𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙤 𝙙𝙚 𝙡𝙖 𝙈𝙤𝙙𝙖. A lo largo del evento, organizado por nuestro grupo de #PropiedadIntelectual, se abordaron algunos de los retos que presenta actualmente el sector de la moda desde una perspectiva jurídica.   Nuestro socio Alvaro Bourkaib se encargó de dar la bienvenida al acto que, presentado por Isabel Antón, directora del libro y profesora titular de Derecho Internacional Privado de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, contó con la participación de reconocidos ponentes coautores del libro: nuestra experta en 𝘍𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘓𝘢𝘸 Paula Conde, del equipo de Propiedad Intelectual; Ane Alonso, abogada de TikTok; Fco. Javier García Pérez, socio de Uría Menéndez; y Macarena Azcárate Manchado, responsable del Departamento Jurídico de Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. Patricia de Anduaga Vazquez, directora de Asesoría Jurídica de Sephora - Grupo LVMH, participó como moderadora del encuentro. En su intervención, Álvaro Bourkaib destacó: «La industria de la moda es innovación, es cambio, es dinamismo. La profesora Isabel Antón ha capturado bien esas características en la selección de temas de 𝟮𝟬 𝙘𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙗𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙡 𝘿𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙤 𝙙𝙚 𝙡𝙖 𝙈𝙤𝙙𝙖 y se ha acompañado de autores y ponentes de primer nivel para alumbrar una obra de rabiosa actualidad y gran interés jurídico». Por su parte, Paula Conde subrayó: «Si bien las plataformas de 𝘦-𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘦 se han convertido en una herramienta esencial para la industria de la moda, también han traído consigo nuevos retos que han requerido de un profundo análisis jurídico. Entre ellos, la regulación de un régimen de exención de responsabilidad aplicable a los servicios intermediarios por el contenido ilícito alojado o transmitido a petición de sus usuarios adecuado a la era de la transformación digital».
