A great analogy for leaders looking to cultivate a workplace culture of growth and trust! #organisationalculture #growthmindset #workplaceculture #leadership

Leaders can’t create culture out of thin air. They can cultivate it. Like a farmer cultivates his crops. If you think like a farmer:  → You can’t just make a field grow.  → You cannot simply put up a list of values on a wall. → But you provide the right conditions for culture to thrive organically. Here are 7 ways to nurture a vibrant culture, farmer-style: 1/ Don’t shout at the crops. Just as yelling at crops won't make them grow faster, ↳ Harsh words won't foster a positive team culture. ⇥ Opt for encouragement and constructive feedback instead. 2/ Don’t blame the crop for not growing fast enough. ⇥ Blaming the crop for not growing won't solve anything. ⇥ Seek to understand challenges rather than assign blame. 3/ Don't uproot crops before they’ve had a chance to grow. ⇥ Give your team time to grow and learn from their experiences. ⇥ Patience can lead to bountiful harvests. 4/ Choose the best plants for the soil. ⇥ Place people in roles where they can flourish based on skills and strengths. ⇥ Right People, Right Roles. 5/ Irrigate and fertilise the fields. ⇥ Provide your team with the resources and training they need. ⇥ This investment in their growth will yield high returns. 6/ Remove weeds to protect their crops. ⇥ Address conflicts and negative behaviours early on. ⇥ This can prevent them from overshadowing the team's potential. 7/ You can't control the weather, but you can prepare for it.  ⇥ Leaders can't foresee every challenge, ↳ But they can equip their team to handle adversity. Cultivating a culture is a process, not an overnight achievement. Think like a farmer: nurture, support, and be patient. P.S. Repost this ♻️ to share it with your network. Businesses have become increasingly open to evaluating candidates who may not hold a traditional college degree or possess the usual years of experience required. This shift towards prioritizing competencies over credentials marks a leading trend in the workplace, referred to as skills-based hiring. TestGorilla's "The State of Skills-Based Hiring 2022" report reveals that 76% of employers now incorporate skills-based hiring practices to identify new talent, with nearly 55% utilizing role-specific skills assessments.
