Do you also get frustrated when customers don't know how to articulate what they want? Well, Mads Hildorf, one of our Line Managers, doesn't. Having worked with different customers over the years has given him insights into his skills and what drives him. This experience has led his transition from Project Management, through Application Management to becoming the Line Manager of a completely new team today. A responsibility he does not take lightly: "The great thing about this opportunity was gaining experience and building things from the ground up”. When we asked Mads why he thought he had advanced so well in his career, the answer wasn't spectacular or self-imposing but just honest: "I see myself as diligent." And this diligence has continuously brought new opportunities because Mads in his own words “grabs opportunities based on intuition and experience”. The challenges that excite Mads lie with many of NNIT's large customers that bring sometimes difficult but also rewarding tasks and often in complex settings. What’s the fun in solving the same puzzle twice? Meet Lucas – a young and ambitious Data Technician already liberating his talent at NNIT. Lucas is training to become a data technician specializing in programming through his EUD education at TEC, which combines school and vocational training. He has now been part of a team at a big Danish public sector customer for 1.5 years, and despite being only 20 years old, he feels that responsibility comes if you are diligent and ask for it. Lucas primarily works with a large, recognized public customer that uses many old systems. But as Lucas says, “I appreciate working with both old and new systems”. Trained in all systems, he can provide new input and be the expert for the customer: “I learn the newer things at school and can use them at the customers”. Lucas is proud of his role, helping to innovate where it makes sense in an exciting everyday life. “It is rare that two days are the same” he says. Even though things move quickly at NNIT, development is a priority for all leaders. Lucas appreciates the ongoing dialogue with his manager, who supports his ambitions: “The opportunities to grow are great. I mentioned to my manager that I wanted to study IT architecture, and a week later, I was on a mentoring course”. Being the young one in a team can be challenging, but Lucas doesn't feel that way. He highlights the dedication of experts willing to share their knowledge: “NNIT is a place where you grow together. There is always someone to help you develop”. This supportive environment has made a significant impression on him, and he feels inspired by his skilled colleagues who praise his achievements: “I am truly inspired by working with such skilled people, who also praise me when I achieve something great”.
