Before the International Labour Day, Industrial Operations Asia had a visit from the representatives of Scania Labour Union, members of TRATON Supervisory Board and Volkswagen Group China Labour Relation.
Their trip started in Beijing Volkswagen office, where they visited our Procurement team. Then, Rugao welcomed them with the site tour that covered both Construction Site 1 and Site 2, also marking them as the first visitors inside of our workshop.
Michael Lyngsie, Representative blue collar union, IF Metall, at Scania and Deputy Chairman of TRATON Supervisory Board comments, “Scania has business in many different countries, and we are used to deal with differences. If we compare with the Sweden Labour Union, we are different, but we share the same core principles. We should have regular interaction to see what we can do to support each other, because there’s much information that we need in our role, and hopefully, there’s a lot we can do to support the local organisation.”
Lisa Lorentzon, Chairperson University Graduates union, Akademikerföreningen, at Scania. Member of TRATON Supervisory Board says, “the most important thing is work with what you have and improve. Different things work differently in different countries, so we should work from there. You can feel it when you meet people here - the energy, the Scania team spirit from everyone, and the feeling that everyone wants to contribute and help. It feels like Scania when you come into the office and the Construction Site.”
With this visit, we can go back feeling quite proud and with what we are doing here. The decisions we made are well on track and have been done in the Scania Way.
Today is a special day in which we are celebrating our effort and contribution in what we do, wishing you a Happy International Labour Day!
