The #RoboCupAsiaPacific 2024 took place from October 24th to 27th, a grand event of technology and intelligence that drew over 200 teams from more than 20 countries and regions, including China, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, Thailand, Egypt, and Croatia, with nearly 600 participants competing in a top-tier event in China for 2024.   Among the competitions, the #NAO Standard Platform matches were particularly eye-catching. As the standard platform, all teams compete using NAO robots, which operate entirely autonomously during the matches, without external human or computer control. This means the robots must have "their own thoughts", and work well in teams.   On the field, there were not only traditional powerhouses like Tongji University's #TJArK and the University of New South Wales' #rUNSWift but also newcomers like Russia's #Starkit. The NAO robots demonstrated exquisite teamwork, coordinating seamlessly and scoring goals, earning the admiration and applause of the audience. The NAO Robot Standard Platform competition is not just a technical contest but also a clash of intelligence and passion. Teams fought alongside NAO, presenting a highly watchable and technically advanced AI visual feast for the audience. The 2024 RoboCup China Open concluded with great success on May 19th.     Pepper, serving as the designated standard platform for the RoboCup@Home league, played a pivotal role in the competition. This year, the ZJUTDeus@Home team from Zhejiang University of Technology claimed the championship title in this category, with the nbut-P team from Ningbo University of Technology, and the WHUAI-HOME team from Wuhan University securing the second and third places, respectively.    In the soccer category, NAO robots, as the specified standard platform, captivated the audience with their impressive performances, making this event a highlight of the competition. After three days of fierce competition, the TJArK team from Tongji University emerged as the overall champions, marking their eleventh consecutive win in the China competition!     The STRing team from Shanghai University of Sport, who are only in their second year of participation, won the runner-up position, which is a significant encouragement for new teams. The IFI team from University of Science and Technology Beijing secured the third place.    We look forward to welcoming more robotics enthusiasts to platforms like RoboCup for exchange and learning, to jointly promote the application and development of robotic technology, and to lay a solid foundation for future technological innovation.

SoftBank Robotics' Pepper & NAO engaged youth at Shanghai's "Daguo Xiao Gongjiang" event, bridging tech and education.    On April 27th, the half-day journey delved into the origins of robotics, the evolution of technology, and a close encounter with the Pepper robot, blending artistry with cutting-edge features that won the hearts of the young participants.   With expert guidance, the kids mastered the #Choregraphe programming tool, diving into the basics of coding and bringing tasks to life with Pepper. This interactive learning experience laid a solid foundation for their future in tech exploration📚 Witnessing the students generate creative content using LLM and choreographing it into a performance.
